The First Covenant of Adam (PBUH)

A covenant is an agreement between God and Man. It is our story and it all began with the covenant of Adam (PBUH). There have been six previous covenants throughout the ages. Each has pointed to the best of all covenants, The Seventh Covenant.

What is a covenant? If we can summarize the Abrahamic religions in one word, that word would be “covenant”. The deal between God and man. Covenant comes with rules or religious law -- like a contract. It is our story and it all began with a covenant. The covenant between God and mankind goes back to the time of Adam. There have been six previous covenants throughout the ages. Each covenant has pointed to the best of all covenants, the seventh covenant.

It all started with Adam (PBUH), But what was the covenant between God and Adam? Let us begin by asking if Adam was named as the first caliph of God in the book of Genesis? Discover the line of successors appointed by God, listed in the book of Genesis.

Now let us explore the covenant of Adam (PBUH)

HAVE CHILDREN "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over... every living thing" (Genesis 1:27-28)

DIET - God ordained that herbs and trees should provide food, and God " took Adam and put him in the garden of Eden, to tend and keep it" (Genesis 1:29, 2:8,15)

It is written in the Quran: “And indeed We made a covenant with Adam before, but he forgot, and We found on his part no firm will-power.” Quran 20:115

Adam ate from the tree, thus breaking the covenant. Whenever a covenant with God is broken, there is a punishment. The punishment for Adam was being cast down to earth.

God forgive Adam and restored the covenant however Adam and Eve were casted out of paradise and became mortals.

How did mankind become mortal? It all goes back to Adam breaking the covenant with God. Let’s take a look at the story in the book of Genesis.

God said to Adam, "You are dust, and to dust you shall return" (Genesis 3:19) Even though, God had forgiven Adam the covenant was renewed thus all people after that time were subject to Adam's covenant.

DO NOT KILL- “Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.” (Genesis 4:10-12).
