WASH THE MUD FROM YOUR EYES

When we think of the promised savior what do we envision? When we think of the arrival of Jesus do we see him descending from the clouds, resting himself on the wings of two angels? Do we believe that automatically the religious clerics will hand over their religious seats for the promised savior? Will the Pope step aside for Jesus?

In order to understand our present we must visit our past. The Holy Quran is a compilation of the best of stories of the prophets and messengers.

The Quran has stories of past nations, that which came down before:

We relate to you ˹O Prophet˺ the best of stories through Our revelation of this Quran, though before this you were totally unaware ˹of them˺.
. Surah Yusuf verse 3

Before I move on to the next point I would like to mention something extremely crucial.. Whenever a messenger came to a nation the majority denied. Arguably one of the reasons for this is the ‘norm’ in which the prophet or messenger would appear physically.

(25:7) They say: "What sort of a Messenger is this: he eats food and walks about in the markets?14 Why was an angel not sent down to him so that he may remain with the Messenger and warn those that do not believe in him?

This proves that the prophets and messengers never came in accordance to the expectations of the people, They didn’t descend from clouds, walk in slow motion or walk around with the moon covering their face.

READY, STEADY FIGHT!

One of the most common themes is how the scholars, religious clerics and nations fight the prophets and messengers sent by God the Almighty.

Let us see what the Holy Quran says regarding this:

The chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said: Verily we see thee in folly, and verily we deem thee to be of the liars. The Heights V66

The chiefs of Pharaoh’s people protested, “Are you going to leave Moses and his people free to spread corruption in the land and abandon you and your gods?” He responded, “We will kill their sons and keep their women.1 We will completely dominate them.” The heights V127

Furthermore, Jesus encountered similar stances from the Pharisees. In fact it was these Pharisees who would claim they were anticipating a messiah but when he came they caused nothing but trouble for him. Why? Because he went Against everything that they were preaching! He exposed them.

In the parable of the Pharisee and a tax collector, both went to the temple to pray. The Pharisee prayed about how good he was, but the tax collector asked for God’s mercy as he was a sinner. Jesus said that it was the tax collector who went home justified before God. He concluded, “Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

So these are just some of the points that highlight how in each time and period whenever a messenger and prophet is sent from God the majority fight them.

THE BLOOD IS ON WHOSE HANDS?

How far did the religious clerics / leaders  take matters?

The amount of times religious clerics/ leaders fought and eventually were responsible for the killings of the prophets and messengers are too much to mention. Here are just a few examples:

Prophet Zechariah would spend his days preaching to the people and he dared to censure the monarch. He was killed in the priests' courtyard in the most horrific of ways.

Imam Hussain (pbuh) the grandson of the holy Prophet (pbuh) was killed in the most horrific way in a land known as Karbala.

Prophet mani, John the Baptist and and and.... the list goes on. How long will it be until we wake up and stand with the true successors of God?

Now, ask yourself about the present time. What can we say about the scholars, clerics and leaders of today? Will they support the savior or will they fight?

Here is what the Holy Quran states:

"This is (also) the (the Law of Allah) with respect to those who passed away of old. And you can not find any change in the way of Allah."

This proves that just like the past nations the denial of God's chosen ones is constant, it must be this way. So how can anyone hope and wait for their religious clerics to guide them to the awaited savior?
Every day is Ashura, and every land is Karbala
