The verse of purification :

"Allah only desires to keep away from you all blemishes (al-rijz), O Ahl al-Bayt, and to purify you absolutely(Qur’an 33:33)"

This verse is popularly known as the Verse of Purification. All hadith scholars (Sunni or Shiite), unanimously agree that this verse was revealed concerning the group known as Ashab al-Kisa, the People of the Cloak, " namely the Holy Prophet ", Imam Ali, Sayyidah Fatima, Imam al-Hasan and Imam al-Husayn, peace be upon them all.
-Narrated Umar ibn Abi Salamah who was brought up by the Prophet, peace be upon him:
"Allah only desires to keep away from you all blemishes (al-rijz), O Ahl al-Bayt, and to purify you absolutely(Qur’an 33:33)" , was revealed to the Prophet at the home of Umm Salamah he called Fatima, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn and covered them with a cloak. Ali was behind him, the Prophet also covered him under the same cloak and then said, “O Allah! THESE are my Ahl al-Bayt, so keep away from them all blemishes (al-rijz) and purify them absolutely.” Umm Salamah said, “Am I one of them, O Allah’s Apostle?” He replied, “You have your separate place. But, you are unto a good (future).”

I am the house of wisdom and ‘Ali is its door
Imam Ali as Sermon without dot:
[spoiler][center]All praise be to Allah: the praised King, the affectionate Owner, the Fashioner of all who are born, the Recourse for every downtrodden, the Outstretcher of lands, the Establisher of firm mountains, the Sender of rain, the Alleviator of difficulties, the Knower and Perceiver of secrets, the Destroyer of kingdoms and Perisher of possessions, the Renewer of eras and their Repetitor, the Source of all things and their Destination. Widespread is His generosity and sufficient are the layered clouds and the supply of rain. He responds to the one who asks or hopes, giving wide and with abundance.

I praise Him endlessly. I consider Him one as He is considered one by those who turn to Him. Lo! He is Allah, there is no god for the nations except Him. No one can distort what He set upright and established. He sent Muhammad as the standard-bearer of submission (Islam), the leader for the rulers and preventer of their oppression, The crippler of the authorities of Wudd and Sawa` (two idols). He informed and educated, appointed and perfected. He founded the fundamentals and eased them in. He emphasized the appointed promise (Day of Judgment) and forewarned. Allah has linked him with honor and granted his soul the peace, and may Allah have mercy on his progeny and his venerated family; as long as the guiding stars shine, the crescent continues to rise, and the chant of the oneness (La ilaha illa Allah) is made to be heard around.

May God protect ye! Work towards the best of deeds. So tread the path seeking the lawful, and give up the forbidden and abandon it. Listen to the command of Allah and be aware of it. Maintain the ties with relations and nurture them. Disobey desires and repel them. Bond as kins with the righteous and pious, and discontinue the company of amusement and greed.

Your groom is the most impeccable of free men by birth, most generous and honorable with glories, and of the sweetest of descent. Here he came to you, took your kin with permission, in marriage, the gracious bride. Offered a dowry, just as the Messenger of Allah did to Umm Salamah. Certainly, he [s] was the most gracious son-in-law. Kind to his progeny. He gave them in marriage to whom he wanted. He was neither confused in his choice of wife nor had an oversight.
I ask Allah, on your behalf, for the lasting graciousness of His connection. And the continuation of His pleasures, and that He may inspire all: the reform of their own condition, and the preparation for their individual destiny and the hereafter. Gratitude is for Him forever and the praise for His Messenger Ahmad [s].
[center]Amir al-mu'minin's said:

*Through us you got guidance in the darkness and secured high position, and through us you
got out of the gloomy night. The ears which do not listen to the cries may become deaf.
How can one who remained deaf to the loud cries (of the Qur'an and the Prophet) listen to
(my) feeble voice. The heart that has ever palpitated (with fear of Allah) may get peace.
I always apprehended from you consequences of treachery and I had seen you through in the
garb of the deceitful. The curtain of religion had kept me hidden from you but the truth of my
intentions disclosed you to me.
I stood for you on the path of truth among misleading tracks where you met each other but
there was no leader and you dug but got no water.

Today I am making these dumb things speak to you (i.e. my suggestive ideas and deep
musings etc.) which are full of descriptive power. The opinion of the person who abandons
me may get astray. I have never doubted in the truth since it has been shown to me.
Musa (Moses) did not entertain fear for his own self. Rather he apprehended mastery of
the ignorant and away of deviation.

Today we stand on the cross-roads of truth and untruth.
The one who is sure of getting water feels no thirst*
Imam Ali (a.s.):

... Life is getting short while (the records of) actions are being preserved. Many strivers are wasting (their efforts) and many of those who exert are heading towards harm. You are in a period when steps of virtue are moving backwards, steps of evil are moving forward and Satan is increasing his eagerness to ruin people.

This is the time that his equipment is strong, his traps have been spread and his prey has become easy (to catch).

Cast your glance over people wherever you like, you will see either a poor man suffering from poverty, or a rich man ignoring Allah despite His bounty over him, or a miser increasing his wealth by trampling on Allah's obligations, or an unruly person closing his ears to all counsel...

Have you not been left among people who are just like rubbish and so low that lips avoid mention of them and do not move even to condemn their low position

... "Verily we are Allah's and verily unto Him shall we return." (Qur'an, 2:156)

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Three groups of people cannot get their due rights from three groups of people:
1- The noble people from the base ones,
2- The patient people from the stupid ones,
3- The good-doers from the wicked ones."

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "The dearest person near God is the one who is honest in his speech; the one who guards (i.e. he performs) his prayers, and does what is incumbent upon him; and the one who returns what he is entrusted with." He then added: "Whoever is entrusted with something and returns what he is entrusted with has indeed opened up one thousand knots of the Fire of Hell from around his own neck. Therefore compete with each other in being trustworthy, and know that Satan will appoint one hundred of his followers to tempt whoever is known to be trustworthy. They will tempt him to violate the trust, and get ruined. Only those protected by God the Almighty shall be saved."

Imam Baqir (a.s) said: "Whenever one suffers from a calamity, or remembers one and says "From God we are, and to Him is our return", and he is patient, God will forgive all his past sins, or the sins he has committed from the last time he said "From God we are, and to Him is our return."

Imam Sadiq (a.s) narrated on the authority of his noble grandfather (a.s) that a man went to see the Prophet (a.s) and prayed: “O' God! Please make us needless of all creatures.” Then the Prophet of God (a.s) said: “Do not pray this way. Say: O' God! Please make us needless of the wicked creatures, since a believer is never needless of his believing brothers.”

Imam Sadiq (a.s) quoted on the authority of God's Prophet (a.s): "Whenever a believer privately prays for his believing brother, God will appoint an angel to pray for him and say: "You will also get whatever you asked for your believing brother." and in another narration Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "When a believer privately prays for another believer, calamities will be fended off of him, and his share of daily bread will increase."

Imam Ali (a.s) said:

The best means by which seekers of nearness to Allah, the Glorified, the Exalted, seek nearness, is the belief in Him and His Prophet, fighting in His cause, for it is the high pinnacle of Islam, and (to believe) in the kalimatu'l-'ikhlas (the expression of Divine purification) for it is just nature and the establishment of prayer for it is (the basis of) community, payment of zakat (Islamic tax) for it is a compulsory obligation, fasting for the month of Ramadan for it is the shield against chastisement, the performance of hajj of the House of Allah (i.e. Ka`bah) and its `umrah (other than annual visit) for these two acts banish poverty and wash away sins, regard for kinship for it increases wealth and length of life, giving alms secretly for it covers shortcomings, giving alms openly for it protects against a bad death and extending benefits (to people) for it saves from positions of disgrace.

Go ahead with the remembrance of Allah for it is the best remembrance, and long for that which He has promised to the pious, for His promise is the most true promise. Tread the course of the Prophet for it is the most distinguished course.
Follow the sunnah of the Prophet for it is the most right of all behaviours. Learn the Qur'an for it is the fairest of discourses and understand it thoroughly for it is the best blossoming of hearts.
Seek cure with its light for it is the cure for hearts. Recite it beautifully for it is the most beautiful narration.

Certainly, a scholar who acts not according to his knowledge is like the off-headed ignorant who does not find relief from his ignorance, but on the learned the plea of Allah is greater and grief more incumbent, and he is more blameworthy before Allah.

Supplication of Imam Ali (a.s):

O' my Allah!
Thou art the most attached to Thy lovers and the most ready to assist those who trust in Thee. Thou seest them in their concealments, knowest whatever is in their consciences, and art aware of the extent of their intelligence. Consequently, their secrets are open to Thee and their hearts are eager from Thee. If loneliness bores them, Thy remembrance gives them solace. If distresses befall them, they beseech Thy protection, because they know that the reins of affairs are in Thy hands, and that their movements depend upon Thy commands.

O' my Allah!
If I am unable to express my request or cannot see my needs, then guide me towards my betterment and take my betterment and take my heart towards the correct goal. This is not against (the mode of) Thy guidance nor anything new against Thy ways of support.

O' my Allah!
Deal with me through Thy forgiveness and do not deal with me according to Thy justice.
Fear Allah and only Allah, and LOVE Allah and only Allah

Imam Hassan Askari (as) who was still a child was standing between some other children who were playing and having fun. Suddenly a lover of the Ahlul Bayt (as) was passing by. But he was trapped with this scene that all the children were playing but a beautiful child was standing alone crying. He decided to approach this child to ask what was wrong, maybe he could help him. He said: "My dear, are you crying because you don't have the toys other children have. If you like I can bring some toys to you." Imam Hassan Askari (as) replied: "Do you think I'm crying for the toys. We are not created to play with toys and have fun but to worship Allah (SWT) and seek for knowledge. This lover of the Ahlul Bayt (as) asked him that how he was sure about that and the young Imam Hassan Askari (as) answered: Have you not read the verse of the Noble Qur'an which guides us saying:

"What! Did you then think that We had created you in vain and that you shall not be returned to Us?" (Noble Qur'an 23:115)

This lover of the Ahlul Bayt (as) was impressed with the answer and said: "But why are you so troubled in such a young age. You have not committed any sins. Imam Hassan Askari (as) replied: "Age does not matter. I watch my mother every day when she set fire to the large twigs she uses the small first. I am afraid that may not the young children of this world be used to light the fire of Hell."

Subhanallah. Such deep wisdom from what people termed only a child. OUr beloved Imams from the womb, learned to meditate on the power and supremacy of Allah! May we all learn from this story. For fear of Allah in everything we do can only benefit us, and make us disciplined in our actions. Slowly but surely, Inshallah we truly understand that fear is to respect and respect is to love. Thus:


"The believers are stronger in their love for Allah." (Surah Al-Baqara, 2:165)

Imam Ali (as) smiled and said, "Love Allah (SWT) and for the sake of His love, you love His creatures; children and fellow beings too. I love you for the sake of Allah (SWT)."

Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (as) said once, "The heart is the sanctuary of God, therefore do not settle therein anything but God."

Inshallah what we must understand is that to love Allah is to fear Allah. For the demonic entities residing within us that try to persuade us towards the side of the pridefull and egotistical, and that side is only the path of Shaytan. For it was out of arrogance that Shaytan did not bow to Adam. Inshallah we must try to contemplate to the best of our abilities, the simple fact that we are nothing without Allah. And to Allah is all praise and appreciation for he is mercifull for us even when we fail objectively in the most simplest of matters!

Inshallah let us all Enjoy prayer and come to the degree in which we continue in our duties because we finally realize, that Allah is deserving, the only deserving of any praise and respect. And that failing to be obedient servers to Allah means a complete loss on the hereafter.

Let us truly meditate on loving Allah.

The problem of the conflict between the world and the Hereafter and the contradiction between them as two opposite poles, such as the north and the south, which are such that proximity to the one means remoteness from the other, is related to the world of human heart, conscience, human attachment, love and worship. Allah (SWT) has not given two hearts to man:

Allah (SWT) has not assigned to any man two hearts within his breast. (Noble Qur'an, 33:4)

With one heart one cannot choose two beloveds.

Hazrat Ali (as) would always spend time with his children. Once he was sitting in his house with his two young children, Hazrat Abbas, his son, and Bibi Zainab, his daughter.

Hazrat Ali (as) said to Hazrat Abbas, "Say Wahid (one)". Hazrat Ali (as) then asked him to "say Isnain (Two)". Hazrat Abbas replied, "I feel ashamed to utter 'two' from the same tongue which just said 'one'".

Hazrat Ali (as) hugged his son, pleased at such a charming expression. The reply from Hazrat Abbas indicated how deeply devoted he was in his belief in Tawheed, that is, Oneness of Allah (SWT). A true believer never likes to even imagine any association with Allah (SWT).

Bibi Zainab then asked, "Dear, father, do you love me?" Hazrat Ali (as) said, "Yes, of course, my children are like a part of my heart". On hearing this, she said, "You also love Allah (SWT). How can two loves be in one heart of a true believer, the love of Allah (SWT) and that of children?

Hazrat Ali (as) smiled and replied, "Love Allah (SWT) and for the sake of His love, you love His creatures; children and fellow beings too. I love you for the sake of Allah (SWT)."

During the month of Ramadan charity is seen in almost every muslim houshold in all its manifestations.Charity, in the sense of giving away one’s wealth, is of two kinds, voluntary and obligatory. Voluntary charity is generally mentioned in the Quran as ‘infaq’ or ‘ihsan’ or ‘sadaqah’, obligatory charity is called Zakat.
The two commandments, to keep up prayer and to give zakat, often go together and this combination of the two is met within the earliest chapters of the Quran as well in those which were revealed towards the end of the Prophet’s (pbuhahf) life. Not only are prayer and charity mentioned together in a large number of passages but also these two are treated as being the basic ordinances of the religion of Islam.

Allah (s.w.t.) says:
"They ask you what they should spend, Say: what-ever of wealth you spend, is for the parents, relatives, orphans, the needy and the traveler, and whatever good you do, Allah is surely omniscient of it." (2:215)

Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari, the Prophet's (pbuhahf) companion, said: that a poor emigrant (Muhajir) came to the Prophet (s.a.w.) and asked for help. The Prophet answered: "I do not have anything, go to my daughters, whose house is beside mine".Then Bilal, the Prophet's muezzin, guided him (jabir). He went to Fatimah's (a.s.) house and said: "Peace be upon you, O The family of the Prophet!" and asked for help. When Fatimah (a.s.) got aware of his poverty, although she and her father and husband did not have anything to eat for three days, she brought out the necklace which Hamzah's (a.s.) son -her cousin- had presented her and told the man: "Take this and sell it. I hope that Allah gives you better than this". The man took the necklace and went to the Prophet and described what had happened. The Prophet cried and prayed for him.
Ammar Yasir (the Prophet's companion) stood up and after asking for permission, bought the necklace and gave the man food, cloth, an animal and cost of travelling. The Prophet asked the man: "Are you satisfied?" The man felt ashamed and thanked him. Ammar put the necklace in a Yemeni cloth and perfumed it and dedicated it to the Prophet (pbuhahf.) with his slave. The slave came to the Prophet and told the story. The Prophet offered the necklace and the slave to Fatimah (a.s.). The slave came to Fatimah, She took the necklace and let the slave free. Then the slave smiled and when he was asked for the reason, he answered: "What a blessed necklace! It fed a hungry, covered a naked, made a pedestrian have an animal, made someone free from want, let a slave free and finally returned to its owner".

Fatima (a.s.) was a special person even before she was born because she was conceived from the fruits of paradise.
The Prophet (pbuhahf.) says: "That before she was conceived the Arch-Angel Gabriel came down from the heavens with a plate containing a cluster of dates and a bunch of grapes ordering me to eat them.
After I ate them I was ordered to go to Khadija and thus Fatima was conceived from the fruits of paradise." Khadija was now pregnant with Fatima and as she says, it was an easy pregnancy because the embryo would speak to her from inside her womb.
Khadija did not inform the Prophet about this miraculous occurrence, but one-day when she was home alone, he found Khadija speaking to someone.
He inquired as to whom she was speaking to, she replied, "That which is in my womb, surely it speaks to me". The Prophet then cheerfully said, "Rejoice Khadija, for this is the girl whom Allah has made to be the mother of eleven of my successors who will come after me and after their father". So for the duration of the pregnancy, Fatima was comforting her mother who had been deserted by the women of Quraysh because she married the poor orphan, Mohammad (pbuhahf).
When Fatima's delivery came near, Khadija sent for the qurayshi midwives, who still refused to help her.
But by the grace of Allah, four of the most beautiful women came to help her in this time of need, as she says, "When Fatima's delivery came near, I sent for the qurayshi midwives who refused to help me because of Mohammad (pbuhahf)
During childbirth four ladies whose beauty and brilliance were indescribable entered the house; each one began to introduce herself.
The first one said, "I am your mother Eve". The second one said, "I am Asiya bint Muzahim, Firauns wife". The third one said, "I am Kulthum Musa's sister", and the fourth one said, "I am Mariam bint Imran, Isa's mother, we have come to deliver your child". So with the help of these heavenly ladies, Fatima was delivered.
She was born on the 20th Jamadi al-Akhir. She fell to the ground in the position of prostration and the brightness and brilliance of her face illuminated the skies from east to west, and for this reason she was named "Al-Zahra", lady of light. Al-Zahra is known by nine names, such as Fatima. She was named Fatima because she and her followers are protected from hell.
She is also Al-Siddiqa meaning she is a woman who has scrupulous honesty and sincerity, believing in the commands of Allah and his Prophet, never doubting for one moment.
She is also Al-Mubaraka, which means the blessed one because abundant blessings originated from her, such as the necklace that fed a hungry man, satisfied a poor man and freed a slave.
We now understand why she was Mubaraka.
Some other names she is known by, are Al-Tahera, meaning she was virtuous and pure, cleansed from all sin, and she was Al-Batool, meaning she was chaste and pure, safeguarded from menstruation and childbirth bleeding.
She is also Al-Zakiya, meaning the chaste and Al-Radhiyah, the satisfied or gratified one, and of course Al-Mardhiya which means she who pleases Allah.
The Mistress of All Women
Without Fatima Zahra (a.s). there is no Islam, because Fatima is our model.our example, we have to follow in her footsteps as much as possible. She is the most important lady in this universe and always will be. When we help others and give charity we should be proud because we are doing as Fatima would have done. An example of her generosity is when on her wedding day; a poor lady came and asked for some clothes. Fatima (a.s). had only two dresses, the new one that she was going to wear on the wedding day and an old one. Fatima gave her new wedding dress instead of the old one. Fatima Zahra (a.s). is an inspiration to all women and should be emulated. She was exactly like her father, Prophet Mohammad (pbuhahf).We too should strive and try be like her. We should learn from her genorosity, honesty, modesty and loyalty.

Allah is the greatest love, out of his love he sent his Messengers, who out of love taught us how to navigate through life.
From the Messengers came the Ahl al Bayt carring the weight of love, to people till the end of time.
Love is a precious gift we should always cherish.

The Supplication for Thursday from Imam Zain Al Abideen (a.s.)

In the Name of God, the All-merciful,
the All-compassionate

Praise belongs to God,
who has taken away the shadowy night by His power
and brought the sight-giving day through His mercy.
He has clothed me in its brightness
and given me its favour.

O God,
just as Thou hast spared me for this day,
so also spare me for its likes,
bless the prophet Muhammad and his Household,
torment me not in it and in other nights and days
by allowing me to commit unlawful acts
and to clothe myself in sins;
provide me with its good,
the good of all within it,
and the good of everything after it;
and turn away from me its evil,
the evil of all within it,
and the evil of everything after it!

O God,
by the protective compact of Islam,
I seek mediation with Thee!
By the inviolability of the Qur'an,
I rely upon Thee!
By Muhammad the chosen (God bless him and his Household)
I seek intercession with Thee!
So recognize my protective compact
by which I hope my need will be granted,
O Most Merciful of the merciful!

O God,
decree for me on Thursday five things
which none embraces but Thy generosity
and none supports but Thy favours:
health through which I may have the strength to obey Thee,
worship by which I may deserve Thy plentiful reward,
plenty in my state through lawful provision,
and that Thou
makest me secure in the places of fear
through Thy security,
and placest me in Thy fortress
against the striking of worries and sorrows!
Bless Muhammad and his Household,
and make my seeking his mediation as an intercessor
give profit on the Day of Resurrection!
Surely Thou art the Most Merciful of the merciful!
In the name of Allah, The Beneficent, the Merciful,
Bless Muhammad (SAW) and his pure progeny (AS),

With crisis and chaos spreading through the world at an extremely rapid pace, it has become quite evident that we have some pretty dark days ahead of us, and indeed, many trials and tribulation. There is no doubt that our faith must be tested. 'Do men think that they will be left alone on saying "We believe" and that they will not be tested? We did test those before them and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false.' (29:2-3). 'Or did you imagine that you were going to enter the Garden without Allah knowing those among you who had struggled and knowing the steadfast?' (Surah Al' Imran:142)

"Test Every Spirit" (1 John 4:1)

Testing brings about blessing, because only through testing can our faith be strengthened, thus hastening our spiritual growth and the blessings that increases that growth. 'He who has created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test (and thus show) which of you is best in conduct' (67:2) 'Ye shall certainly be tried and tested in your possessions and in your personal selves' (3:186)

- 'Paradise is surrounded by hardships and perseverance, so one who perseveres and endures hardship in this world will enter Paradise.' - Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (AS)

So, indeed, through these trials Allah (SWT) is building our character and strengthening our faith, and we are attaining higher spiritual levels. Peter gives a perfect name for our trials (Pet 4:12), calling them the "Fiery trials of life". The believer resembling gold and steel, as gold is improved in the fire and separated from impurities, and as steel is strengthened in the furnace, so our faith can only be purified by perseverance under pressure, and can only be strengthened when we learn to rely on Allah (SWT) in times of crises.

-'Those who are with Truth in which there will not be even a speck of falsehood, their example is like Red Gold. The more you heat it, the more its quality and goodness increases.'- Imam Ali (AS)

'If i go east, He is not there, and if I go west, I cannot perceive Him. When He is at work to the North, I cannot see Him, when He turns South, I cannot find Him. Yet He knows the way I have taken; when He has tested me. I will emerge as pure as gold.' Job 23:8-10

So, with the Help of Allah, the most Helpful, may we preserve patiently during our trials and tribulations. For Indeed Allah, Most Merciful, Most Wise, is with those who are patient; 'O ye who believe! Seek help with patients and perseverance and prayer; for Allah is with those who patiently persevere' (2:153) 'And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to the patient ones, Who, when afflicted with calamity say: 'Verily to Allah we belong and verily, to Him we shall return.' They are those on whom are the ones who are blessed and will be forgiven from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are they guided-ones.' (2:155-157)

And Surely, if we put our trust on our Lord, he will not forsake us. And He (SWT) will never place any burden on a soul that is beyond its ability to bear. 'On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear; before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth; they will never be wronged.' (23:62) 'And those who believe and do good - We do not impose upon any of them a burden beyond his capacity' (7:42)

- 'A servant will never experience faith until he knows that that which befalls him does not do so in order to make him fail, nor is his failure meant as a tribulation for him, and that the one who causes benefit and harm is Allah, Mighty and Exalted.' - Imam Ja'afar al-Sadiq (AS)

- 'Cast away the troubles that come upon you, with fortitude and patience. Make yourself accustomed to perseverance and patience, for how blessed is the patient creature. - Imam Ali (AS)

- 'Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life' (James 1:12)

May Allah, Most Merciful Most High, grant us success in conquering by faith and patience the difficulties thrown in our path. For Indeed, the divine help comes with patience - 'Then surely with hardship comes ease. Surely with hardship comes ease.' (94:6)

- 'Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.' (Psalm 34:19)

May Allah (SWT) be of comfort to us all during our trials and tribulations, May we all be steadfast and grasp hold of our Lord. For surely, Allah (SWT) is with us, if we are with Him.

- 'Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord is with you wherever you go.' (Joshua 1:9)

The Secret of Ahlulbayat[/center]
[center]Amirul Mukminin Ali a.s once said to regarding salman and Abu Dzar,”If Abu Dzar knew what Salman knows, he (Abu Dzar) would definitely casts Salman as being infidel and make lawful to spill Salman’s blood for the sake of seeking nearness to Allah.”.

He is the first and the last, the outward and the innermost
(Ali huwal awwalu wal akhiru wal zhahiru wal bathinu )

We want to start a discussion according to the Book ASRARE ALE MOHAMMAD (The secrets of Ale Mohammad). The author of the book was Soleim Ibn Gheis Hilali, died in the 76 A.H, 15 years after the tragedy of Karbala which happened in 61 A.H., so he has died 15 years after the Ashura’s events.
All hadiths he used in his book were narrated from Salman, Mighdaad, and Abazar who were the most faithful followers of prophet Mohammad (pbuh).

During the time of Imam Sajjad and Imam Sadegh the Book of Soleim Ibn Gheis Hilali was showed to these two great men and they authenticated the book and said that if anyone do not have the book of Soleim Ibn Gheis Hilali they will never know the secrets of Ale Mohammad PBUT.

The first and the last word : 72nd hadith in the book of Soleim Ibn Gheis Hilali

The Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him one night ordered Ali (as) to greet the Sun:

[spoiler]“I saw The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) when he told Amirul Mumineen (AS) one night: “When it is morning you go to the mountains of Baqi and stand on high place on the earth. When the sun rises, salute it, because indeed, Allah has commanded it to reply to you with matters that are within you.”

So in the morning Amirul Mumineen (AS) came out and Abu Bakr and
Umar were with him and a community of Muhajireen and Ansar were also
with him until he reached Baqi and went and stood on a high place on the
earth. When the sun arose, Alayhi Salaam said:
“Salutation, O creature of Allah’s new creation who obeys Him.” Everyone heard a voice from the sky - an answer of someone who is answering:
‘And salutation be on you as well, O that person, who is Awwal and O he, who is Aakheer, O Zahir, O batin, O he who knows everything.’

When Abu Bakr, Umar, Muhajireen and Ansar heard what the sun said, they all fainted.

Then they became conscious after a while, when Amirul Mumineen had left the place. They all went to the Holy Prophet (SAW) with the community and said: “You say that Ali is a man like us, when the sun addressed him in a manner that Allah has addressed Himself.”

The Holy Prophet (SAW) asked: “What did you hear from it?”

Everyone replied: “We heard it saying ‘Salutations be on you, O he who is Awwal.’
So he (SAW) said: “It said truth. He is the first one who brought faith to me.”

All said: “We heard it say: ‘O Aakheer’.”

He replied: “It said truth, he is the last person of all who will separate from me. He will give me the ritual bath, shroud and will enter me in my grave.”

All said: “We heard it say: ‘O Zahir’.”

He replied: “It said truth. All my knowledge became Zahir (clear) for him.”

All said: “We heard it say ‘O Batin’.”

He replied: “It said truth. All my secrets are present with him.”

All said: “We heard it say ‘O he, who knows everything’.”

He replied: “It said truth. He knows what is lawful and unlawful, and compulsory, tradition and like it.”

All stood up and said: “Muhammad put us in darkness.” and left from the
door of the mosque.
“A person came to the Holy Prophet (SAW) and said: “Will the love of Ali (AS) benefit me?”

He replied: “Woe be to you, who keeps him a friend keeps me a friend, who loves me has loved Allah and whoever loves Allah, Allah will not punish him.”

The person said: “Tell me more about the value of loving Ali (AS).” He
replied: “I will ask Jibra’eel for you in this matter.” So Jibra’eel descended
at that time, so the Holy Prophet (SAW) asked him and told him what that
person said. Jibra’eel said: “I am asking Allah concerning this now.” and
went high.

So Allah sent a message: ‘O Muhammad, give my greetings to my best of
all, and tell him: ‘Your place to Me is where I want, and Ali has that status to
you which you have to Me, and the status of those who love Ali is what Ali
has to you.’

Salman Farsi (RA) said: “I went to the Holy Prophet (SAW). At that time Husayn ibn Ali was sitting in his lap. He noticed pleasure on his face and kissed him between his two eyes, and said to him: “You are leader, son of leader. You are Imam, son of Imam and brother of Imam, and father of Imams. You are Allah’s authority and the son of Allah’s authority, and the father of the
authorities - nine who will be from your children. The ninth one of them will
be their Qaim.”

Imaam Alis (as) says :

<<( muawiya and his companions ) ...No doubt these people on the Day of Judgement will be punished most,

surely, Allah will take caliphate out from this through those black standards
that will be coming from the East. Allah will, through them, humiliate them
and will kill them under every stone. And a person from your children who
is unfortunate, cursed, rude, unpleasant, whose heart will be on the wrong
side, hot-tempered and cruel - Allah has taken away softness and kindness
from his heart, and his maternal uncle will be from the family of Kalb - I can
see him and if I wished I could tell his name as well as his qualities, and how
old he will be. He will send an army towards Medina and the army will enter
Medina, will kill wastefully and commit bad deeds. A person from my
children will run away from him, who will be intelligent and pure and will
fill the earth with fairness and justice in the same manner that it will be filled
with injustice and oppression. I know his name and what his age will be at
the time and what will be his signs, and he will from my son Husayn- that
Husayn whom your son Yazid will kill. He is the one who will avenge the
killing of his father. He will go Makkah and from that army (Muawiyah's
children) will kill such a person from my children who will be pure and
innocent near Ahjare Zayt (a place in Makkah). After that this army will go
to Makkah and surely I know the name of the Amir of that army, their
number, their names and the signs of their horses. When they enter Bayda
(ground between Makkah and Medina) and they will all enter in that ground,
so Allah will make them fall into ground (like being buried). Allah Jall wa
Azz says: {' And could you see when they shall become terrified, but (then)
there shall be no escape and they shall be seized from a near place' }
(Surah Saba: 51)

He said "from under your feet". Nobody, except one, from that army will
remain whose face Allah will not turn towards his back.

For Mahdi, Allah will gather a community from all over the earth, which will be like clouds of springtime (kharif). By God, I know their names, the name of their
leader, where their carriers will stop. Mahdi will enter Ka'abah and will
Allah Azz wa Jall says: {'Oh Who answers the distressed one when he
calls upon Him and removes the evil, and He will make you successors in the
earth.' } (Surah Naml: 62)

Allah says:

And there is not a thing but with Us are its treasures, and We do not send it down but in a known measure. (Qur'an, 15:21)

...amplifieth He their sustenance unto whomsoever He willeth and straiteneth; Verily He knoweth all things. (Qur'an, 42:12)

Amir al-mu'minin describes herein the members of the Prophet's family PBUT :

They are life for knowledge and death for ignorance. Their forbearance tells you of their knowledge, and their silence of the wisdom of their speaking. They do not go against right nor do they differ (among themselves) about it. They are the pillars of Islam and the asylums of (its) protection. With them right has returned to its position and wrong has left its place and its tongue is severed from its root. They have understood the religion attentively and carefully, not by mere heresy or from relaters, because the relaters of knowledge are many but its understanders are few.

On the swearing of allegiance:
They leapt upon me as the camels leap upon each other on their arrival for drinking water, having been let loose after unfastening of their four legs till I thought they would either kill me or kill one another in front of me. I thought over this matter in and out to the extent that it prevented me from sleeping. But I found no way except to fight them or else to reject whatever has been brought by Muhammad (PBUHAHP). I found that to face war was easier for me than to face the retribution, and the hardships of this world were easier than the hardships of the next world.

khutba Al Ashbah : This sermon is known as the Sermon of Skeletons
(Khutbatu'l-Ashbah) and it holds one of the highest positions among the sermons of Amir al-mu'minin.

*The Sermon of "al-Ashbah". "ashbah" is the plural of shabah which means skeleton, since it contains description of angels and other kinds of beings it has been named by this name *

Allah is the Guarantor of sustenance and Provider of livelihood as He says:

No creature is there crawling on the earth, but its provision rests on Allah...(Qur'an, 11:6)

Mas`adah ibn Sadaqah has related from al-Imam Ja`far ibn Muhammad as-Sadiq (p.b.u.t.) saying: "Amir al-mu'minin delivered this sermon from the pulpit of ( the mosque of Kufah ) when someone asked him, 'O' Amir al-mu'minin! describe Allah for us in such a way that we may imagine that we see Him with eyes so that our love and knowledge may increase about Him.' Amir al-mu'minin became angry at this (request of the questioner) and ordered the Muslims to gather in the mosque. So many Muslims gathered in the mosque that the place was over-crowded. Then Amir al-mu'minin ascended the pulpit while he was still in a state of anger and his colour was changed. After he had praised Allah and extolled Him and sought His blessings on the Prophet (PBUH)he said:

Description of Allah

Praise be to Allah whom refusal to give away and stinginess do not make rich and Whom munificence and generosity do not make poor, although everyone who gives away loses (to that extent) except He, and every miser is blamed for his niggardliness. He obliges through beneficial bounties and plentiful gifts and grants. The whole creation is His dependants (in sustenance). He has guaranteed their livelihood and ordained their sustenance. He has prepared the way for those who turn to Him and those who seek what is with Him. He is as generous about what He is asked as He is about that for which He is not asked. He is the First for whom there was no 'before' so that there could be anything before Him. He is the Last for whom there is no 'after' so that there could be anything after Him. He prevents the pupils of the eyes from seeing Him or perceiving Him. Time does not change over Him, so as to admit of any change of condition about Him. He is not in any place so as to allow Him movement (from one place to another).

If He gives away all that the mines of the mountains emit out or the gold, silver, pearls and cuttings of coral which the shells of the ocean vomit out, it would not affect his munificence, nor diminish the extent of what He has. (In fact) He would still have such treasures of bounty as would not decrease by the demands of the creatures, because He is that generous Being Whom the begging of beggars cannot make poor nor the pertinacity of beseechers make miser.

Attributes of Allah as described in the Holy Qur'an

Then look on questioner, be confined to those of His attributes which the Qur'an had described and seek light from the effulgence of its guidance. Leave to Allah that knowledge which Satan has prompted you to seek and which neither the Qur'an enjoins you to seek nor is there any trace of it in the actions or sayings of the Prophet and other leaders (A`immah) of guidance. This is the extreme limit of Allah's claim upon you. Know that firm in knowledge are those who refrain from opening the curtains that lie against the unknown, and their acknowledgement of ignorance about the details of the hidden unknown prevents them from further probe. Allah praises them for their admission that they are unable to get knowledge not allowed to them. They do not go deep into the discussion of what is not enjoined upon them about knowing Him and they call it firmness. Be content with this and do not limit the Greatness of Allah after the measure of your own intelligence, of else you would be among the destroyed ones.

He is Powerful, such that when imagination shoots its arrows to comprehend the extremity of His power, and mind, making itself free of the dangers of evil thoughts, tries to find Him in the depth of His realm, and hearts long to grasp realities of His attributes and openings of intelligence penetrate beyond description in order to secure knowledge about His Being, crossing the dark pitfalls of the unknown and concentrating towards Him He would turn them back. They would return defeated admitting that the reality of His knowledge cannot be comprehended by such random efforts, nor can an iota of the sublimity of His Honour enter the understanding of thinkers.

About Allah's creation

He originated the creation without any example which He could follow and without any specimen prepared by any known creator that was before Him. He showed us the realm of His Might, and such wonders which speak of His Wisdom. The confession of the created things that their existence owes itself to Him made us realise that argument has been furnished about knowing Him (so that there is no excuse against it). The signs of His creative power and standard of His wisdom are fixed in the wonderful things He has created. Whatever He has created is an argument in His favour and a guide towards Him. Even a silent thing is a guide towards Him as though it speaks, and its guidance towards the Creator is clear.

(O' Allah) I stand witness that he who likens Thee with the separateness of the limbs or with the joining of the extremities of his body did not acquaint his inner self with knowledge about Thee, and his heart did not secure conviction to the effect that there is no partner for Thee. It is as though he has no heard the (wrongful) followers disclaiming their false gods by sayings "By Allah, we were certainly in manifest error when we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds." (Qur'an, 26:97-98). They are wrong who liken Thee to their idols, and dress Thee with apparel of the creatures by their imagination, attribute to Thee parts of body by their own thinking and consider Thee after the creatures of various types, through the working of their intelligence. I stand witness that whoever equated Thee with anything out of Thy creation took a match for Thee, and whoever takes a match for Thee is an unbeliever, according to what is stated in Thy unambiguous verses and indicated by the evidence of Thy clear arguments. (I also stand witness that) Thou art that Allah who cannot be confined in (the fetters of) intelligence so as to admit change of condition by entering its imagination nor in the shackles of mind so as to become limited and an object of alterations.

About the greatest perfection in Allah's creation

He has fixed limits for every thing He has created and made the limits firm, and He has fixed its working and made the working delicate. He has fixed its direction and it does not transgress the limits of its position nor fall short of reaching the end of its aim. It did not disobey when it was commanded to move at His will; and how could it do so when all matters are governed by His will. He is the Producer of varieties of things without exercise of imagination, without the urge of an impulse, hidden in Him, without (the benefit of) any experiment taken from the vicissitudes of time and without any partner who might have assisted Him in creating wonderful things.

Thus the creation was completed by His order and it bowed to His obedience and responded to His call. The laziness of any slug or the inertness of any excuse-finder did not prevent it from doing so. So He straightened the curves of the things and fixed their limits. With His power He created coherence in their contradictory parts and joined together the factors of similarity. Then He separated them in varieties which differ in limits, quantities, properties and shapes. All this is new creation. He made them firm and shaped them according as He wished and invented them.

A part of the same sermon, containing description of the sky

He has arranged the depressions and elevations of the openings of the sky. He has joined the breadths of its breaches, and has joined them with one another. He has made easy the approach to its heights for those (angels) who come down with His commands and those (angels) who go up with the deeds of the creatures. He called it when it was yet (in the form of) vapour. At once the links of its joints joined up. Then Allah opened up its closed door and put the sentinels of meteors at its holes, and held them with His hands (i.e. power) from falling into the vastness of air.

He commanded it to remain stationary in obedience to His commands. He made its sun the bright indication for its day, and moon the gloomy indication for its night. He then put them in motion in their orbits and ordained their (pace of) movement in the stages of their paths in order to distinguish with their help between night and day, and in order that the reckoning of years and calculations may be known by their fixed movements. Then He hung in its vastness its sky and put therein its decoration consisting of small bright pearls and lamp-like stars. He shot at the over-hearers arrows of bright meteors. He put them in motion on their appointed routine and made them into fixed stars, moving stars, descending stars, ascending stars, ominous stars and lucky stars

A part of the same sermon, containing description of Angels

Then Allah, the Glorified, created for inhabiting of His skies and populating the higher strata of his realm new (variety of) creatures namely the angels. With them He filled the openings of its cavities and populated with them the vastness of it circumference. In between the openings of these cavities there resounds the voices of angels glorifying Him in the enclosures of sublimity, (behind) curtains of concealment and in veils of His Greatness. And behind this resounding which deafens the ears there is the effulgence of light which defies the approach of sight to it, and consequently the sight stands, disappointed at its limitation.

He created them in different shapes and with diverse characteristics. They have wings. They glorify the sublimity of His Honour. They do not appropriate to themselves His skill that shows itself in creation. Nor do they claim they create anything in which He is unparalleled. "But they are rather honoured creatures who do not take precedence over Him in uttering anything, and they act according to His command." (Qur'an, 21: 26-27). He has made them the trustees of His revelation and sent them to Prophets as holders of His injunctions and prohibitions. He has immunised them against the waviness of doubts. Consequently no one among them goes astray from the path of His will. He has helped them with the benefits of succour and has covered their hearts with humility and peace. He has opened for them doors of submission to His Glories. He has fixed for them bright minarets as signs of His Oneness. The weights of sins do not burden them and the rotation of nights and days does not make them move. Doubts do not attack with arrows the firmness of their faith. Misgivings do not assault the bases of their beliefs. The spark of malice does not ignite among them. Amazement does not tarnish what knowledge of Him their hearts possess, or His greatness and awe of His glory that resides in their bosoms. Evil thoughts do not lean towards them to affect their imagination with their own rust.

Among them are those who are in the frame of heavy clouds, or in the height of lofty mountains, or in the gloom of over-powering darkness. And there are those whose feet have pierced the lowest boundaries of the earth. These feet are like white ensigns which have gone forth into the vast expanse of wind. Under them blows the light wind which retains them upto its last end.

Occupation in His worship has made them carefree, and realities of Faith have served as a link between them and His knowledge. Their belief in Him has made them concentrate on Him. They long from Him not from others. They have tasted the sweetness of His knowledge and have drunk from the satiating cup of His love. The roots of His fear have been implanted in the depth of their hearts. Consequently they have bent their straight backs through His worship. The length of the humility, and extreme nearness has not removed from them the rope of their fear.

They do not entertain pride so as to make much of their acts. Their humility before the glory of Allah does not allow them to esteem their own virtues. Languor does not affect them despite their long affliction. Their longings (for Him) do not lessen so that they might turn away from hope in (Allah) their Sustainer. The tips of their tongues do not get dry by constant prayers (to Allah). Engagements (in other matters) do not betake them so as to turn their (loud) voices for Him into faint ones. Their shoulders do not get displaced in the postures of worship. They do not move their necks (this and that way) for comfort in disobedience of His command. Follies of negligence do not act against their determination to strive, and the deceptions of desires do not overcome their courage.

They regard the Master of the Throne (Allah) as the store for the day of their need. Because of their love (for Him) they turn to Him even when others turn to the creatures. They do not reach the ending limit of His worship. Their passionate fondness for His worship does not turn them except to the springs of their own hearts, springs which are never devoid of His hope and His fear. Fear (of Allah) never leaves them so that they might slacken in their efforts, nor have temptations entrapped them so that they might prefer this light search over their (serious) effort.

They do not consider their past (virtuous) deeds as big, for if they had considered them big then fear would have wiped away hopes from their hearts. They did not differ (among themselves) about their Sustainer as a result of Satan's control over them. The vice of separation from one another did not disperse them. Rancour and mutual malice did not overpower them. Ways of wavering did not divide them. Differences of degree of courage did not render them into divisions. Thus they are devotees of faith. Neither crookedness (of mind), nor excess, nor lethargy nor languor breaks them from its rope. There is not the thinnest point in the skies but there is an angel over it in prostration (before Allah) or (busy) in quick performance (of His commands). By long worship of their Sustainer they increase their knowledge, and the honour of their Sustainer increases in their hearts.

A part of the same sermon, in description
of earth and its spreading on water

Allah spread the earth on stormy and tumultuous waves and the depths of swollen seas, where waves clashed with each other and high surges leapt over one another. They emitted foam like the he-camel at the time of sexual excitement. So the tumult of the stormy water was subdued by the weight of the earth, when the earth pressed it with its chest its shooting agitation eased, and when the earth rolled on it with its shoulder bones the water meekly submitted. Thus after the tumult of its surges it became tame and overpowered, and an obedient prisoner of the shackles of disgrace, while the earth spread itself and became solid in the stormy depth of this water. (In this way) the earth put an end to the pride, self conceit, high position and superiority of the water, and muzzled the intrepidity of its flow. Consequently it stopped after its stormy flow and settled down after its tumult.

When the excitement of water subsided under the earth's sides and under the weight of the high and lofty mountains placed on its shoulders, Allah flowed springs of water from its high tops and distributed them through plains and low places and moderated their movement by fixed rocks and high mountain tops. Then its trembling came to a standstill because of the penetration of mountains in (various) parts of its surface and their being fixed in its deep areas, and their standing on its plains. Then Allah created vastness between the earth and firmament, and provided blowing wind for its inhabitants. Then He directed its inhabitants to spread all over its convenient places. Thereafter He did not leave alone the barren tracts of the earth where high portions lacked in water-springs and where rivers could not find their way, but created floating clouds which enliven the unproductive areas and grow vegetation.

He made a big cloud by collecting together small clouds and when water collected in it and lightning began to flash on its sides and the flash continued under the white clouds as well as the heavy ones He sent it raining heavily. The cloud was hanging towards the earth and southerly winds were squeezing it into shedding its water like a she-camel bending down for milking. When the cloud prostrated itself on the ground and delivered all the water it carried on itself Allah grew vegetation on the plain earth and herbage on dry mountains. As a result, the earth felt pleased at being decorated with its gardens and wondered at her dress of soft vegetation and the ornaments of its blossoms. Allah made all this the means of sustenance for the people and feed for the beasts. He has opened up highways in its expanse and has established minarets (of guidance) for those who tread on its highways.

On the Creation of Man and the sending of the Prophet

When He has spread out the earth and enforced His commands He chose Adam (peace be upon him) as the best in His creation and made him the first of all creation. He made him to reside in Paradise and arranged for his eating in it, and also indicated from what He had prohibited him. He told him that proceeding towards it meant His disobedience and endangering his own position. But Adam did what he had been refrained from, just as Allah already knew beforehand. Consequently, Allah sent him down after (accepting) his repentance, to populate His earth with his progeny and to serve as a proof and plea for Him among his creatures.

Even when He made Adam die He did not leave them without one who would serve among them as proof and plea for His Godhead, and serve as the link between them and His knowledge, but He provided to them the proofs through His chosen Messengers and bearers of the trust of His Message, age after age till the process came to end with our Prophet Muhammad - Allah may bless him and his descendants - and His pleas and warnings reached finality.

He ordained livelihoods with plenty and with paucity. He distributed them narrowly as well as profusely. He did it with justice to test whomever He desired, with prosperity or with destitution, and to test through it the gratefulness or endurance of the rich and the poor. Then He coupled plenty with misfortunes of destitution, safety with the distresses of calamities and pleasures of enjoyment with pangs of grief. He created fixed ages and made them long or short and earlier or later, and ended them up with death. He had made death capable of pulling up the ropes of ages and cutting them asunder.

He knows the secrets of those who conceal them, the secret conversation of those who engage in it, the inner feelings of those who indulge in guesses, the established certainties, the inklings of the eyes, the inner contents of hearts and depths of the unknown. He also knows what can be heard only by bending the holes of the ears, the summer resorts of ants and winter abodes of the insects, resounding of the cries of wailing women and the sound of steps. He also knows the spots in the inner sheaths of leaves where fruits grow, the hiding places of beasts namely caves in mountains and valleys, the hiding holes of mosquitoes on the trunks of trees and their herbage, the sprouting points of leaves in the branches, the dripping points of semen passing through passages of loins, small rising clouds and the big giant ones, the drops of rain in the thick clouds, the particles of dust scattered by whirlwinds through their skirts, the lines erased by rain floods, the movements of insects on sand-dunes, the nests of winged creatures on the cliffs of mountains and the singing of chattering birds in the gloom of their brooding places.

And He knows whatever has been treasured by mother-of-pearls, and covered under the waves of oceans, all that which is concealed under the darkness of night and all that on which the light of day is shining, as well as all that on which sometimes darkness prevails and sometimes light shines, the trace of every footstep, the feel of every movement, the echo of every sound, the motion of every lip, the abode of every living being, the weight of every particle, the sobs of every sobbing heart, and whatever is there on the earth like fruits of trees or falling leaf, or the settling place of semen, or the congealing of blood or clot and the developing of life and embryo.

On all this He suffers no trouble, and no impediment hampers Him in the preservation of what he created nor any languor or grief hinders Him from the enforcement of commands and management of the creatures. His knowledge penetrates through them and they are within His counting. His justice extends to all of them and His bounty encompasses them despite their falling short of what is due to Him.

O' my Allah! thou deservest handsome description and the highest esteem. If wish is directed towards Thee, Thou art the best to be wished for. If hope is reposed in Thee, Thou art the Most Honoured to be hoped from. O' my Allah! Thou hast bestowed on me such power that I do not praise any one other than Thee, and I do not eulogise any one save Thee. I do not direct my praise towards others who are sources of disappointment and centres of misgivings. Thou hast kept away my tongue from the praises of human beings and eulogies of the created and the sustained. O' my Allah! every praiser has on whom he praises the right of reward and recompense. Certainly, I have turned to Thee with my eye at the treasures of Thy Mercy and stores of forgiveness.

O' my Allah! here stands one who has singled Thee with Oneness that is Thy due and has not regarded any one deserving of these praises and eulogies except Thee. My want towards Thee is such that nothing except Thy generosity can cure its destitution, nor provide for its need except Thy obligation and Thy generosity. So do grant us in this place Thy will and make us free from stretching hands to anyone other than Thee. "Certainly, Thou art powerful over every thing. " (Qur'an, 66:8).
Quranic Life and knowledge of Imam Ali, Abu Turab (Father of Soil) (as)

Bismillah Al Rahmaan Al Raheem

"(Remember) the day when We will summon every people with their Imam (guide); then whosoever is given his book in his right hand, then these shall read their book (joyfully) and they shall not be dealt with unjustly". (17:71)

In explaining the above verse from the Noble Qur'an, Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "(On that day) everyone will be summoned with the Imam of their time, Book of their Lord and the Sunnah (tradition) of their Prophet". (Namoona)
Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "The person who dies and has not known the Imam of his time [Imam Mahdi (as) is the present time Imam] has died the same as one who died during the Age of Ignorance."

The foremost principle of Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as)'s life was: Having firm belief and faith in Almighty Allah (SWT). Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) therefore based his entire life upon the teachings and guidance of Noble Qur'an. That's why the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Ali is with Quran and Quran is with Ali".
Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) said, "Ask me (anything) about the Book of Allah (Noble Qur'an). By Allah! There is not a single verse which was revealed during night or day, during travel or at home, but Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) read it to me and taught me its meanings..." (Amali of Shaykh al-Toosi)
Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) was the only one who declared 'Saluni, Saluni Kabla an Tafkiduni' - 'ask me, ask me, before you do not find me amongst you.'

Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) also said, "If authority is given to me and I have to act as a judge, I will judge the followers of Tawrat from Tawrat, the followers of Injeel from Injeel, the followers of Zaboor from Zaboor and followers of Furqan (Quran) from Furqan. By Allah! There is not a single verse which has been revealed during night or day, in the field or in the mountains but that, I possess its knowledge as to where it was revealed and for whom it was revealed".

Judgement of Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) according to Noble Qur'an (Six Months Pregnancy)

After the death of Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw), the Justice of Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) was very popular. Even the first three Caliphs resorted to him in numerous cases.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf) said: The foremost judge amongst you is Ali.

During the days of second Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab, a woman was arrested and presented before him.
People said, "O Khalifa! This woman has committed adultery. She has delivered a child after only a period of six months pregnancy".
Umar ibn al-Khattab ordered the woman to be stoned to death.
As people were taking her towards the location for punishment, she kept on pleading that she was innocent but no one would listen to her.
Finally someone informed Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) about the situation and he (as) came to Umar ibn al-Khattab and asked, "Why have you ordered this woman to be stoned to death?"
Umar ibn al-Khattab replied, "For adultery! She has given birth to a child after a period of six month's pregnancy and we all know the pregnancy period is of nine months".
Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) said, "This is not true! It is possible for a woman to give birth after six months pregnancy. This child belongs to her husband".
When asked for Quranic evidence, Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) said, Allah (SWT) says at one place: "And the mothers should suckle their children for two years" (2:233) and in another place Allah (SWT) says: "And the bearing of him and the weaning of him is thirty months" (46:15) If the period of weaning which is two years (24 months) is subtracted from thirty months (which is overall period of bearing & weaning), there remains only six months. This proves that pregnancy period can be of six months.
So Umar ibn al-Khattab set the woman free and said, "If Ali had not been there, Umar would have perished."

Another Judgement of Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) according to Noble Qur'an

A case was brought before Umar ibn al-Khattab, the second Caliph. Two babies, a girl and a boy, were born on a single dark night to two wives of the same man. The father of the babies had passed away and both wives claimed to be the mother of the son.
Umar ibn al-Khattab asked, "Where is Abul Hasan, vanquisher of difficulties?"
Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) was called for and the case detailed to him. He called for two small vessels to be brought and had them weighed and then instructed that equal amount of milk from each mother be drawn into a vessel.
When they were weighed again, it was found that one was heavier than the other. Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) declared that the mother with the heavier milk was the mother of the boy and the lighter milk was that of the girl's mother.
Umar ibn al-Khattab asked how he comes to this conclusion. Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) replied that Allah (SWT) has prescribed that, "For a male is the share of two females."
Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) was the most just ruler after Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) in the history of Islam.

Once two women came with a dispute to Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as). The dispute was that each of those two women claimed that the child was their son. No one was ready to back off their claim, that she was not the mother of that child. So Imam Ali (as) said, ok, I will divide the child into two parts by cutting him in half. This way both of you can keep half of your child. Just when the child was about to be cut suddenly one of the women cried, No! Please let the other woman keep this child. And, hence Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) concluded that the woman who cried out at the last moment was the real mother. Since a real mother could not bear to see her son get killed, even if it meant her to stay away from her own child.

Famous Sayings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) on Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as)

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Whoever wishes to see Adam in his knowledge, Nuh/Noah in his piety, Ibrahim/Abraham in his forbearance (patience), Musa/Moses in his strength, and Isa/Jesus in his worship and devotion should look at Ali ibn Abi Talib."

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Make your gatherings lively with the remembrance of Ali ibn Abi Talib."

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Annazro ela'a wajhe Aliyin ibadah (Looking at the face of Ali is Worship.)"

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "You (Ali) are in the same position with respect to me as Aaron (Harun) was to Moses (Musa) except that there is no prophet after me."

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Nobody knows Allah except me and Ali. Nobody knows me except Allah and Ali. Nobody knows Ali except Allah and me."

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "I am the City of Knowledge and Ali is its Gate."

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Allah (SWT) has created me and Ali from the same one Noor."

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "I am from Ali and Ali is from Me."

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Ali is my brother in the world and hereafter."

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Ali is with Haqq (truth) and Haqq is with Ali - O Allah (SWT) turn Haqq in the same direction in which Ali turns."

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) had affirmed in the battle of Khyber, when he said: "Tomorrow, I will give the banner to a man who loves Allah and His Prophet (pbuh) and whom Allah and His Prophet (pbuh) love." This man attacks but never flees. He does not come back from a battle, until he achieves victory by Allah's Blessings.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said the following about Ali ibn Abi Talib:
He is the first one to believe in Islam; He is the most knowledgeable; He is the most correct one in his DEEN; He is the most certain; He is the most patient; He is the most forgiving and generous; He is the bravest in heart; He is the IMAM and the successor after me.

Famous Sayings of Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) on the reality of this World

Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) said: "The world is a corpse. Whoever seeks it is a dog."

Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) said: "The pomp and glory of a vicious life is to me worth less than the sneeze of a goat."

"O world, are you offering yourself to me? Do you desire me? Never! Never! Deceive someone other than me, I have divorced you for the third time, so that you cannot return to me (metaphorically, of course; he is alluding to the fact that, in Islam, the third divorce is final) your life is short, the existence you offer is base, and your danger is great. Alas for the scarcity of sustenance (good deeds), the great distance of the journey, and the loneliness of the road!"

Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) said: "O Ammar, grieve not if the pleasures of this world are kept away from you. Honey, the best and sweetest food, is the saliva of an insect, the bee. The nicest dress is made of silk which is the refuse of a small worm. The most refreshing scent, musk, is the blood of an animal, the deer. The best drink is water which is also used by animals to quench their thirst.

Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) said: "This world is like a serpent, so soft to touch, but so full of lethal poison. Unwise people are allured by it and drawn towards it, and wise men avoid it and keep away from its poisonous effects."

Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) said: "When this world favors anybody it lends him qualifications, and attributes surpassing merits of others, and when it turns its face away from him it snatches away even his own excellences and fame."

I wonder at the arrogance of a haughty and vain person. Yesterday he was only a drop of semen and tomorrow he will turn into a corpse.

I wonder at the man who observes the Universe created by Allah and doubts His Being and Existence.

I wonder at the man who sees people dying around him and yet he has forgotten his end. Also Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) said: "Every breath you take is a step towards death."

The people of this world are the example of a caravan that is taking them while they are sleeping.

I wonder at the man who has seen the first life (understands the marvel of genesis of creation) and denies the second life (refuses to accept that he will be brought back to life again).

I wonder at the man who takes great pains to decorate and to make comfortable this mortal habitat and totally forgets his permanent abode."

Description of man according to Imam Ali, Abu Turab (as) : "Man is a wonderful creature; he sees through the layers of fat (eyes), hears through a bone (ears) and speaks through a lump of flesh (tongue)."

Amir al-Muminin, Imam Ali (as) the great scholar of Islam

Amir al-Muminin, Imam Ali (as) was not only a great warrior but a great scholar as well. Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said about him, "I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate." He was one of the great jurists among the Companions. Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) appointed him as the Judge of Yemen during his life time. He was a master of Arabic and his writings were as effective as his speech.
On many occasions Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) had prayed for him. When he sent Imam Ali (as) to Yemen in Ramadan (10 AH), he blessed Imam Ali (as) with the following prayer: "Oh Allah (SWT) put truth on his tongue and enlightens his heart with the light of guidance." Then he himself put a turban on his head and gave the black standard.

On one occasion Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said to Imam Ali (as), "You pertain to me and I pertain to you." At another place, Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "Only a hypocrite does not love Ali and a believer does not hate him."

According to a Hadith Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said to Imam Ali (as), "You have a resemblance to Prophet Jesus whom the Jews hated so much that they slandered his mother Mary and whom Christians loved so much that they placed him in a position not rightly his. Ali afterwards said, "Two (types of) people will perish on my account, one who loves me so excessively that he praises me for what I do not possess, and one who hates me so much that he will be impelled by his hatred to slander me."
"Satan has been assigned to steal the traditions by making you forget them. That is why he is called "The Robber of Traditions". Whenever you want to narrate a tradition and feel that you have forgotten it, just call God the Almighty, send blessings on the Prophet (a.s) and damn the robber of traditions. God willing you will remember it. But if you still cannot remember the tradition, your remembrance of God and sending blessings on the Prophet (a.s) will be accepted instead." - Imam al Sadiq a.s.

Imam Redha (a.s) said: "God revealed the following to one of His Prophets: When you leave the house in the morning, eat the first thing that you encounter, hide the second thing, accept the third thing, do not disappoint the fourth and escape from the fifth.
When he first left the house in the morning, he encountered a big black mountain. He said to himself that God had ordered him to eat it, and wondered how to do it.
He then thought that God would not order him to do what was beyond his power. So he moved towards the mountain. The closer he got to the mountain, the smaller it became. When he finally reached it, it had turned into a small bite to eat. He ate it, and it was really delicious.
He continued to go on until he reached a golden pan. He said to himself that God had ordered him to hide it. He dug a ditch, threw the golden pan in the ditch, covered it up with dirt, and started to go on his way again. But then he noticed that the pan was visible out of the ground. He said to himself that he had done what God had ordered him to and continued to go on.
Then he suddenly saw a bird being pursued by a falcon trying to hunt it. The falcon was flying around the bird. The Prophet remembered that God had ordered him to accept this one. He opened his sleeve, and the bird entered it. The falcon told the Prophet (a.s): You have caught the prey that I was after for a few days. Then he remembered that God had ordered him not to disappoint this one. Then he cut a piece of the bird's leg and threw it to the falcon.
He continued to go on, and saw a piece of rotten meat. He remembered that God had ordered him to escape this one, and he escaped from it. When he returned home and went to sleep, he had a dream. He was told: "You performed your mission, and did whatever you were instructed to do. Do you know what the philosophy behind all these issues is?"
He said: "No."
So he was told: "That mountain was anger. Whenever one gets angry, he does not see himself and does not realize his situation. If he restrains himself, recognizes his position and quenches his anger, the end is like a delicious bite which he eats. The golden pan is indeed man's good deeds which are better to hide, but God will make them apparent so that he is adorned by them, and he receives the reward in the Hereafter. But the bird is like a man who advises you, and you should accept his advice. The falcon is like a man who comes to you and asks you to fulfill his needs. You should not disappoint him. The rotten meat is like gossip which you should avoid."

Hadith no. 4 from Kitab-e-Sulaym Ibn Qays al Hilali:
[spoiler]Aban ibn Abi Ayyash has narrated from Sulaym ibn Qays. He (Sulaym) heard from Salman Farsi, who said: "After the Holy Prophet (SAW) passed away and people did what they did, Abu Bakr, Umar, Abu Ubaydah ibn Jarrah came to people and told the Ansar their argument. The Ansar told them the argument of Hadhrat Ali (AS). They (Abu Bakr, Umar, and Abu Ubaydah) said: "O group of Ansar, the Quraysh are more deserving of the caliphate than you, because the Holy Prophet (SAW) was from Quraysh, and Muhajireen are better than you since Allah in His Book has spoken about hem first, and has given them merits. The Holy Prophet(SAW) has said: "Imam will be from Quraysh"

Salman says: "I went to Hadhrat Ali (AS) when he was giving the ritual bath to the Holy Prophet (SAW) since the Holy Prophet (SAW) has said that none other than Ali (AS) must give him the ritual bath. When the Holy Prophet (SAW) said to Hadhrat Ali (AS) that none other than him should give him the ritual bath, Hadhrat Ali (AS) had asked: 'O Prophet of Allah, who would help me in giving the bath?' The Holy Prophet (SAW) had replied 'Archangel Jibra'eel will help' So when giving the bath whenever Hadhrat Ali (AS) wanted to turn any part of the Holy Prophets (SAW) body, the part would turn itself.

After Ali (AS) had completed giving the ritual bath, hunut and shroud, he let me in, and he also let Abu Dhar, Miqdad and Lady Fatimah, Hasan and Husain (AS) in. Ali (AS) stood in front and we stood behind him and recited the prayer. And Ayeshah was in her room - she did not know anything. Allah had put a curtain over her eyes.

After that ten people from Muhajireen and ten people from Ansar - they were coming in and praying and going out until such time that there was no one left from the Muhajireen and Ansar who had not prayed.
Salman said: "I told Hadhrat Ali (AS), when he was giving the bath to the Holy Prophet (SAW) what the community had done and I told him Abu Bakr is at this time on the pulpit of the Holy Prophet (SAW) and people are not happy to pay allegiance with one hand, but they are paying allegiance with both hands, left and right."

Hadhrat Ali (AS) replied: "O Salman, do you know who was the first to pay allegiance to him on the puplit of the Holy Prophets (SAW)?"

Salman: "No, but I can say that I saw him in the shade of Bani Sa'eedah at the time when the Ansar were quarreling. The first one who paid allefiance was Mughirah ibn Sha'abah, after him Bashir ibn Sa'eed paid allegiance, then Abu Ubaydah Jarrah, then Umar ibn Khattab, then Saalim Mawla Abi Huzayifah and Ma?az ibn Jabal."

Hadhrat Ali (AS) said: "I am not asking about these people, but do you know who was the first to pay allegiance when he first went on the pulpit?"

Salman said: "No, but I saw one very old man who supported himself with a stick and had a mark in between his two eyes; the mark was very dry. He went to the pulpit first of all and bowed and was crying and saying, 'Praise is due to Allah who did not make me die until I saw you in this place. You stretch your hand.' So Abu Bakr stretched his hand and the old man paid allegiance. Then the old man said: 'This religion is like the religion of Adam.' Then he got down from the pulpit and walked out of the Masjid."

At that time Hadhrat Ali (AS) asked: "O Salman, do you know who this person was?"

Salman said: "No, but I did not like his talk - it was like he was pleased with the sad demise of the Holy Prophet (SAW)."

Hadhrat Ali (AS) said: "This was Iblis - May Allah curse him. The Holy Prophet (SAW) had informed me that Iblis and his top companions were present when, by God's command, the Holy Prophet (SAW) had declared me caliph in Ghadir Khum, and the Holy Prophet (SAW) had informed people that I was Mawla of everyone and he (the Prophet) had commanded people present that they should pass this message to those that were not present at Ghadir. So the companions of Iblis came and told him: 'This community is blessed and is infallible. Now you and we have no power to manipulate them since they have been told who is their refuge and who is their leader after their Prophet' At that time Iblis was saddened and he went away from there."

Hadhrat Ali (AS) said: "After this I was informed by the Holy Prophet (SAW) when he said: 'People will pay allegiance to Abu Bakr in the shade of Bani Sa'eedah, when they will quarrel through my right and authority.
After that they will come to mosque and the first person that will pay allegiance to him on my pulpit will be Iblis who will come in the form of an old man and say so and so. After that he will go out and gather his companions, Shaytan and Iblis. They will all go into his prostration and say: Oh my Lord and my Almighty You are the One who made Adam come out of Heaven and said which community is it that which will not deviate after the death of their Prophet. Never - You thought that I will not be able to manipulate them (and I will have no ways) - Now how do you people find me with what I did with them when they left Allah's obedience and the command of their Prophet, and ths is what Allah has said: And certainly the shaitan found true his conjecture concerning them, so they follow him, except a party of the believers. (Surah Saba 20)
Iblis made his thought a true action and people obeyed him except a few faithful ones."

Salman said: "When it was night, Hadhrat Ali (AS) made Lady Fatimah (AS) ride and took hands of his sons Hasan and Husain (AS) and went to each and every house of those Muhajireen and Ansar who were of Badr, and reminded them of his rights called them to help him. But except 4 people nobody came forward to help. He asked the helpers to shave their heads and in the morning go to him with their weapons ready to help and pay allegiance to death. In the morning except 4, no one kept their promise."

So I (Sulaym) asked: "Who were those 4?"

Salman replied: "Myself, Abu Dhar, Miqdad and Zubayr."

Then on the second night Hadhrat Ali (AS) returned to all those who did not come and reminded them to fulfill their promise. They all said they would turn up the next morning but except us no one turned up. On the third night Hadhrat Ali (AS) went again and again on the third day except us no one turned up.

When Hadhrat Ali (AS) saw their treachery and disloyalty, he remained inside his house and started compiling the Quran, and did not come out of his house until the whole Quran was compiled. At that time verses were
written in wood, skin and pieces.

After he had collected all the verses and wrote with his own hands in the manner the verses were revealed, with their meanings, and wrote those verses that were revealed to replace previous verses, and also the verses that were those on which action was no longer required, then Abu Bakr sent people to his house to come out and pay allegiance to him. He (Ali) sent a message saying that he was busy and he had taken an oath that except for prayers he will not wear a cloak until he has collected and compiled the Quran. So for a few days they kept quiet. Ali (AS) compiled and completed the whole Quran in one piece of cloth and came to people when they were with Abu Bakr in Masjide Nabawi. He very loudly said: "O people, since the passing away of the Holy Prophet (SAW) I was busy giving him the ritual oath, and compiling the Quran, until it has been collected in one piece of cloth. There is not any verse that Allah T'Ala has revealed which is not in this compilation, and there is not a single verse that the Holy Prophet (SAW) did not make me read, and there is no verse of which the Holy Prophet (SAW) did not tell me the meaning." Then Ali (AS) said to those people: "So that you do not tell me surely we were heedless of this (Surah Araf 172)"

Then Hadhrat Ali (AS) said to them: "So that on the Day of Judgment you do not say that I did not call you to help me and did not remind you of my right, and I did not call you to the Book of Allah from beginning to end."

Umar said: "You are calling us to you, but the Quran that we have is sufficient for us." Then Hadhrat Ali (AS) went home.

Umar told Abu Bakr: "Send somebody to Hadhrat Ali (AS) to ask him to pay allegiance, since until such time he does not pay allegiance there is no value attached to the caliphate, and if he pays allegiance, we will give him amnesty." Abu Bakr then sent a man to Hadhrat Ali (AS) to say: "The caliph of the Prophet of Allah is calling you." The man came and said this to Hadhrat Ali (AS). Hadhrat Ali (AS) replied: "Glory be to Allah, how soon have you wrongly accused the Holy Prophet (SAW)! Abu Bakr knows it and those present near him also know it that Allah and His Prophet have not appointed any caliph except myself." The man returned and told Abu Bakr what Hadhrat Ali (AS) had said.

Abu Bakr asked the man to return to Hadhrat Ali (AS) and say: "Amirul Mumineen, Abu Bakr, is calling you." The man returned to Ali (AS) house and said what Abu Bakr had told him. Ali (AS) replied: "Glory be to Allah, By God, it has not been long, when everything is forgotten. By God, he knows that this title is not appropriate for anyone except myself. The Holy Prophet (SAW) ordered him, and he was seventh in number who had saluted me saying AMIRUL MUMINEEN. So Abu Bakr and his companion Umar, from the seven people asked him: "Is this an order from Allah and His Prophet?" and the Holy Prophet (SAW) said to both of them: "Yes, surely, this is true from Allah and His Prophet. No doubt, he is Amirul Mumineen (Leader of Believers), Sayyidul Muslimeen (Leader of Muslims), Sahibu Liwail (the standard beared on the day of judgment), Ghuml Muhajileen (the one whose forehead shines). On the day of judgment Allah will make him sit on the path and he will make his friends go to Paradise and his enemies go to Hell."

The man returned to tell Abu Bakr what Ali (AS) had told him. That day the man kept quiet.

At night Hadhrat Ali (AS) made Lady Fatimah (AS) ride, and held the hands of his two sons Hasan and Husain (AS) and there was no companion of the Holy Prophets (SAW) left to whose house he did not go, and bearing Allah as his witness, told of his rights and called them to help him, but except for us 4 no one agreed. We shaved our heads and offered our help to him.

Amongst us the one who had most intelligently helped him was Zubayr.

When Hadhrat Ali (AS) saw that people had left him and did not help him, and all of them had joined Abu Bakr and showed him respect and obeyed him, he stayed at home.

Umar asked Abu Bakr: "What is it that has stopped you from sending somebody to Ali to ask him to pay allegiance because except him and them 4, there was nobody left who had not paid allegiance?" Abu Bakr was a little softer at heart, kinder, cleverer and more thoughtful. The other one was very short-tempered, hard-hearted and an oppressor.

Abu Bakr replied by asking whom he should send to Ali, to which Umar replied that he was sending Qunfuz, who was a very tough, short-tempered oppressor from Tulaqa, and was from the tribe of Adi ibn Ka'ab. Abu Bakr sent him to hadhrat Ali (AS) and sent more men to help him. He went and requested permission from Ali (AS). Hadhrat Ali (AS) refused permission. The helpers of Qunfuz returned to Abu Bakr and Umar. These two were sitting in the mosque with people gathered around them. They all told that they were not given permission by Hadhrad Ali (AS). Umar told them to go back to Ali (AS) and if he refuses, enter without permission. They went and asked permission. Lady Fatimah (AS) told them that she was not permitting them to enter. They returned, but Qunfuz, the cursed, remained. His companions told that Lady Fatimah had said such and such, and she was not permitting them to enter. Umar said angrily: "What do we have to do with women?"

Then Umar told those people who had gathered around him to collect wood. They all collected, and Umar himself lifted and went to the house of Hadhrat Ali (AS), Lady Fatimah (AS) and their two sons, and arranged wood all around the house and then said in a voice loud enough to make Hadhrat Ali (AS) and Lady Fatimah (AS) hear: "By God, O Ali, come out and pay allegiance to the caliph of the Holy Prophet of Allah, otherwise we will burn
your house."

Lady Fatimah (AS) said: "O Umar, what do you have to do with us?"

He replied: "Open the door, otherwise we will burn your house."

Lady Fatimah (AS) said: "O Umar, are you not afraid of Allah and are you entering our house?"

Umar refused to return. He asked fire to be brought and he set the door on fire, then he pushed it and entered. Lady Fatimah (AS) came in front and screamed loudly: "O Father, O Prophet of Allah."

Umar raised his sword with the shield and hit her on the side. She screamed: "O Father" He then lifted a whip and hit her on the hand and she cried: "O Prophet of Allah, Abu Bakr and Umar behaved very badly after you."
Hadhrat Ali (AS) rushed, held him by the neck and pushed him away and Omar fell down and hurt his neck and nose. Hadhrat Ali (AS) intended to kill him. He remembered what the Holy Prophet (SAW) had said, and he said: "By Him, who gave Muhammad the status of Prophethood, O son of Sahak, if the Book from Allah had not been revealed and if the Holy Prophet (SAW) had not taken a promise from me before, then you would have known that you could have never entered my house."

Umar, complaining, sent somebody, and some people came and entered the house. Hadhrat Ali (AS) went forward to lift his sword, so Qunfuz returned to Abu Bakr and Abu Bakr was frightened that Hadhrat Ali (AS) with his sword, would go to him, since he knew Hadhrat Ali's bravery and determination.

Abu Bakr said to Qunfuz: "Return to Ali's house and if he comes out then fine, otherwise enter his house. If he refuses then set the house on fire."
Qunfuz, the cursed, returned and entered the house, without permission, with his companions. Hadhrat Ali (AS) went forward to pick his sword - these people, who were so many went forward against him, got hold of him, raised their swords, arrested him and tied a rope in his neck.

Lady Fatimah (AS) came in between Hadhrat Ali (AS) and those people near the door of the house, so Qunfuz hit her with a whip. When she passed away, the mark of the wound was still on her shoulder. May Allah curse Qunfuz and the one who sent him.

Then they pulled Ali (AS) by force until they brought him to Abu Bakr.
When Umar was standing with a sword behind Abu Bakr Khalid ibn Walid, Abu Ubaydah ibn Jarrah and Salim Mawla Abu Huzayfah, Mughirah ibn Sha'aba and others were sitting near Abu Bakr with weapons in their hands.

Sulaym says: "I asked Salman: 'Did these people enter the house of Lady Fatimah (AS) without permission?' He replied: 'Yes, by God, when she did not even have a chaddar over her. So she screamed: 'O Father, O Prophet of Allah, Abu Bakr and Umar behaved so badly after you, while your eyes have not even closed in the grave' and she was saying this loudly."

Salman said: "I saw Abu Bakr and those sitting near him crying with tears and whoever was there was crying except Umar, Khadid ibn Walid, and Mughirah ibn Sha'aba. Umar was saying: "We have nothing to do with
women and their opinion."

Salman said: "Hadhrat Ali (AS) was taken to Abu Bakr and he was saying: 'By God, if I had my sword in my hand, then you would see that you would have never reached this stage. By God, I do not consider myself bad in doing jihad with you. If I had even forty people then I would disperse your community. May God curse that community who paid allegiance to me and then became disloyal.'

When Abu Bakr saw Ali (AS) he screamed and loudly said: 'Release him.'
Hadhrat Ali (AS) said: 'O Abu Bakr, how soon did you act against the Holy Prophet (SAW)! And with what rights and reasons you called people to pay you allegiance? Did you not pay allegiance to me (yesterday) by the command of Allah and His Prophet?'

Qunfuz the cursed, had hit Lady Fatimah (AS) with a whip when she came in between Ali (AS) and the people and Umar had sent him saying: 'If Fatimah comes in between you and her husband, hit her.' so Qunfuz, the cursed, forced her to take refuge behind the door and he pushed the door so her rib near the side got broken and she had a miscarriage. So she was continuously ill until she attained martyrdom in this.

Salman said: "When Ali (AS) was taken to Abu Bakr, Umar very rudely told Ali (AS): 'Pay allegiance to Abu Bakr and leave your useless talks.' Ali (AS) asked: 'If I do not pay allegiance what will you people do?' People said: 'We will kill you with humiliation and degradation.' Ali (AS) said: 'That will mean that you killed Abdullah and the brother of Prophet of Allah.' Abu Bakr said: 'As far as Abdullah is concerned it is correct but we do not accept you the brother of the Prophet of Allah.' Ali (AS) said: 'Do you deny that the Holy Prophet (SAW) had declared brotherhood between him and myself?' Abu Bakr said: 'Yes.' Ali (AS) repeated this thrice.

Then Ali (AS) turned towards those people who had gathered around Abu Bakr and said: 'O group of Muslims, Muhajireen and Ansar, I am asking you to swear By Allah that you have heard the Holy Prophet (SAW) say such nd such in Gadhir Khum and say such and such in the Battle of Tabuk.'
He did not leave anything that the Holy Prophet (SAW) had said, until he reminded them absolutely everything.

Everyone replied: 'Indeed, Yes.'

When Abu Bakr heard this he got fightened that people might help Ali (AS) to stop what was being done. He quickly said: 'What you have said is true and I have heard it with my own ears, I knew and my heart remembered it but I also heard after that the Holy Prophet (SAW) say: 'We Ahlulbayt are those whom Allah has chosen and gave us status and has chosen the hereafter against this world for us. And Allah has not decreed that Prophethood and caliphate be the same.'

Ali (AS) asked: 'Is there any one among the companions of the Holy Prophet (SAW) who can be a witness to what you have said?' Umar said: 'The caliph of the Holy Prophet (SAW) is saying truth. I have heard the Prophet of Allah saying this.' Abu Ubaydah, Salim Mawla Abu Huzayfah and Ma'az ibn Jabal said: 'He has told the truth. We have heard it from the Prophet of Allah.'

Ali (AS) said to him: "You have completed your cursed Sahifah which you agreed in Ka'abah (I.e if Muhammad is killed or dies you people will take away this chaliphate from Ahlulbayt)"

Abu Bakr asked: "How did you know about this? We did not tell you."

Ali (AS) said: "O Zubayr you, and Salman you, and Abu Dhar and Miqdad you - I am asking you for the sake of Allah and for the said of Islam, did you not hear the Holy Prophet (SAW) say when you were listening: 'This one and that one - until he counted upto five - they have made between them a written agreement and have vowed to keep it if I am killed or I die?" They replied: "Indeed, yes we heard the Holy Prophet (SAW) say that to you. Yes we heard that these people had made an agreement and vowed to keep it if he is killed of dies. They will overpower you and O Ali, they will remove you from this caliphate."

Ali (AS) said: 'When the Holy Prophet (SAW) said this I asked: 'O Prophet of Allah may my parents be sacrificed for you, when this happens what do you instruct me to do?' Salman, Abu Dhar, Miqdad and Zubayr said: 'He instructed you that if you find helpers then you fight against them and get your rights, if you do not get helpers then you pay allegiance and save your blood.' Ali (AS) said: 'By God, if those forty people who paid allegiance to me had been loyal to me then I would have fought against you in the way of Allah. But remember, By God, until the Day of Judgment your generational not get it (caliphate). And what makes your talks a lie - which you have attributed to the Holy Prophet (SAW) is Allah's saying: Or do they envy the people for what Allah has given them of His grace? But indeed We have given to Ibrahim's children the Book and Wisdom and We have given them a grand kingdom. (Surah Nisa: 54)
What is meant by Book here is Prophethood, wisdom is tradition and grand kingdom is caliphate and we are Ibrahim's children.'

Miqdad stood up and said: "O Ali, what is your command for me? By God, if you command me I will fight with this sword and if you command me I will stop." Ali (AS) replied: "O Miqdad, STOP, and remember what promise the Holy Prophet (SAW) took from you and his will."

Then I stood up and said: "By Him in whose Hands in my life, if I knew that I will be able to remove any oppression and the religion of Allah will attain status, then I would put my sword on my neck and would fight at each and every step." Then, addressing people, I said: "What! Are you attacking the one who is the brother of the Prophet of Allah, his wasi, caliph of his community and the father of his sons? Then I am giving you good news that trouble will come to you and do not hope for any type of ease."

Abu Dhar stood up and said: 'O that community, who after the death of its Prophet is puzzled, and whom Allah has stopped helping due to their sins, surely Allah says: Surely Allah chose Adam and Nuh and the descendants of Ibrahim and the descendants of Imran above the nations. Offspring, one of the other, and Allah is Hearing, Knowing. (Surah Ale Imran: 33 & 34)

And the children of Muhammad are the descendants of Nuh and they are children of Ibrahim from Ibrahim, and they are chosed ones from Isma?eel and they are progeny of Prophet Muhammad and are household of Prophethood, are place for Messengers and are those to whom angels descend and ascend. And they are like high skies and are like those mountains that are firm, and they are like that Ka?abah over which the veil hangs, and are those springs which are clear and stars who guide people, and a tree lke a blessed tree that produces light and its oil is blessed. And Muhammad (SAW) is the seal of Prophets and is the Leader of Bani-Adam and Ali is Wasi of Awsiya and Imam of Muttaqeen (pious) and is the leader of those whose forehead shines and he is the one who never tells a lie, the one who differentiates between truth and falsehood and is wasi of Muhammad (SAW), the inheritor of his knowledge, and has more rights than anyone over the faithfuls. Like Allah has said "The Prophet has a greater claim on the faithfuls than they have on themselves, and his wives are (AS) their mother; and the possessors of relationship have the better claim in the ordinance of Allah to inheritance, one with respect to another, that (other believers, and (than) those who have fled their homes), except that you do some good to your friends; this is written in the Book." (Surah Ahzab: 6)
So you also bring forward whom Allah has brought forward and put behind him whom Allah has left behind and give Wilayat and inheritance to the one to whom Allah has given."

Umar stood up and said to Abu Bakr who was sitting on the pulpit: "You are sitting on the pulpit and this man is sitting and is prepared for war - he is not getting up to pay you allegiance. Give us order to cut his neck off."

At this time Hasan and Husain (AS) were standing and when they heard what Umar said they started crying. Ali (AS) hugged both of them and told them: "Do not cry, By God, these people are not able to kill your father."

Umme Ayman, who had brought up the Holy Prophet (SAW) came forward and said: "O Abu Bakr, how soon have you all revealed your hypocrisy and jealousy!" Umar gave order and she was removed from the mosque. He said: "What do we have to do with women?"

Buraydah Aslami stood up and said: "O Umar, are you attacking the brother and the father of the children of the Holy Prophet (SAW)? And you are that very person whose reputation in Quraysh is known to us. Are you two not the ones to whom the Holy Prophet (SAW) had told to go to Ali (AS) and greet him saying 'Amirul Mumineen' And you two had asked if this was in accordance with Allah and His Prophet's command, and the Prophet (SAW) had said YES."

Abu Bakr said: "Yes it was like that but the Prophet of Allah had after that said: 'For us Prophethood and caliphate cannot be combined together."

Buraydah said: "The Holy Prophet (SAW) had not said that. By God, I will not remain in a city in which you stay as Amir."

Umar gave order and he was beaten and thrown out of the mosque. Then he (Umar) said: "O ibn Abi Talib, stand up and pay allegiance."

Ali (AS) asked: "If I do not do it then?" He said: "At that time we will cut your neck." Ali (AS) said it three times. Then he without opening his palm, stretched his hand and Abu Bakr put his hand on his (Ali's) hand and was happy with that. Before allegiance Ali (AS), when a rope was tied to his neck, said loudly: "Son of my mother! Surely the people reckoned me weak and had well nigh slain me." (Surah Araf: 150)

Zubayr was told to pay allegiance - he refused. Umar, Khalid ibn Walid and Mighirah ibn Sha'aba with a few people rushed to him, took away his sword from his hand, threw it on the floor and broke it, and held him by the neck. Zubayr said, when Umar was on his chest: "O son of Sahhak, By God, if my sword was in my hand, then you would not have got away from me." He then paid allegiance.

Salman says: "Then they held me, and twisted my neck until it became like a piece of flesh, then took my hand and twisted it, and then forcefully I paid the allegiance. The Abu Dhar and Miqdad also paid allegiance forcefully. And among us there was nobody as outspoken as Zubayr because when he paid allegiance he said: "O son of Sahhak, By God, if these evil people who supported you were not present then you would not able to come to me, and my sword would be with me, because I know your cowardice and disgrace, but you have got a few evil people from whom you gained strength and are attaching."

Umar became very angry and said: "Are you talking about Sahhak?" Zubayr asked: "Sahhak who? And can you stop me talking about Sahhak when Sahhak was a prostitute. Do you deny that? Was she no an Ethiopian slave of my grandfather Abdul Muttalib? Your granddfather Nufail committed adultery with her so your father Khattab was born. After adultery that slave girl was given to your grandfather by Abdul Muttalib, then your father was born, so he was my father's slave who was born by adultery." Then Abu Bakr made peace between these two (Zubayr and Umar) and then both of them stopped quarrelling."

Sulaym ibn Qays says: "I said to Salman: "O Salman, you paid allegiance to Abu Bakr and you did not say anything?" Salman replied: "After allegiance I said to all "Forever and forever may you be destroyed. Do you know what you have done to yourselves? You have done good and you did bad - it is good because you chose the tradition of those who passed away before- thatis fighting and disuniting. And it is bad because you left the tradition of your Prophet until you removed caliphate from its mines and from him whose right it was."

Umar said: "O Salman, now that your companion has paid allegiance, and you have paid too, say what you like and do what you like, and your companion can say what he wants."

Salman said: "I said to Umar: "I have heard the Holy Prophet (SAW) say that until the day of judgment the sins of the entire community will be on you (Umar) and your companion whom you have paid allegiance and the punishment of that will be equal to the punishment of the entire community."
So Umar said: "Say what you like. What! Have you not paid allegiance? And God has not made your eyes calm in a way that your companion gets caliphate."

Salman said, he said: "I bear witness that I have read in various Books of Allah that you, with your names, ancestors and attributes, are one of the doors of Hell."

Umar said to me: "Say what you like Has Allah not taken away the caliphate from the Ahlulbayt whom you had made your God, apart from Allah?"
So I said to him: "I bear witness that I have heard from the Holy Prophet (SAW). He said it when I asked him about the verse: But on that day shall no one chastise with (anything like) His chastisement. And no one shall bind with (anything like) his binding. (Surah Fajr: 25,26) He told me that it meant YOU (Umar)."
Umar said: "Shut up - May Allah make you die - O slave, O the son of evil tongued."

Ali (AS) said: "O Salman I hold you by oath - keep quiet." Salman said: "By God, if Ali (AS) had not ordered me to keep quiet, I would have told him all that has been revealed relating to him, and I would have told him also all that I have heard from the Holy Prophet (SAW) concerning him and his companion." When Umar saw that I was quiet, he told me "No doubt, you are very obedient to him and listen to what he says."

When Abu Dhar and Miqdad paid allegiance they did not say anything. Umar said: "O Salman, why did you not keep quiet like your two companions kept quiet? By God, you do not love Ahlulbayt any more than these two and you do not respect their rights more than these two. You saw them pay allegiance quietly."

Abu Dhar said: "O Umar, are you taunting me about the love of Ale-Muhammad and the respect of their rights? May Allah curse, and he did curse those people who held enmity with them, accused them and took away their rights, and made people ride over their necks and reversed the community to their previous beliefs."
Umar said: "Amen - May Allah curse those who took their rights. By God, Ale-Muhammad are equal in this."

Abu Dhar said: "So why did you challenge Ansar through Ale-Muhammad and their rights?"

Ali (AS) said to Umar: "O son of Sahhak, if we do not have any right in this, then is it yours and the son of a woman who eats flies (Abu Bakr)?"

Umar said: "O Abul Hasan, now that you have paid allegiance, keep quiet because people were happy with my companion and were not happy with you - what is my fault in this?"

Ali (AS) said: "But God and His Prophet are not happy with anyone except myself so you, your companion and those who obeyed you, and those who supported you, and good news be for you on Allah's anger with you, and His Punishment and His degradation of you. O ibn Khattab, may evil befall you, if only you knew how you have erred! If you knew of what you have come out in what you have entered and what evil you have done for yourself and your companion!"

Abu Bakr said: "O Umar, now that he has paid allegiance to us and we have been saved from any harm from him, leave him to say what he wants to say."

Ali (AS) said: "Except one thing, I do not say anything. O four people (Salman, Zubayr, Abu Dhar and Miqdad) I am reminding you I have heard the Holy Prophet (SAW) say: "No doubt, there will be one coffin of fire in which there will be twelve people - six from the beginning) and six from the end, that will be in a well which is in the bottom level of the Hell. And this coffin will be the one that will be locked. There will be a stone kept on the well. When Allah wishes the Hell fire to be lighted, He will remove that stone from the top of the well. At that time the Hell will set alight with the flames and heat of the well."

Ali (AS) continued: "I asked the Holy Prophet (SAW) and you were present, who are the ones from the beginning? He (SAW) replied that from the beginning there will be Adam's son who killed his brother, and Pharaoh of Pharaohs, and the one who argued with the Prophet Ibrahim (AS) concerning God and two people of Bani Israel who changed their Book and their Tradition - one of these two is the one that made Yahudi, a Yahudi, and the other made Nasrani a Nasrani. And the the sixth one is Iblis. And from the end is Dajjal, and these five who are Shifah, and Kitab, and JIBT and TAGUT, O my brother who made an agreement and contract of enmity towards you. And after me, they will overpower you. This one and this one, until he gave names and counted also."

Salman says he said: "You have told truth - we bear witness that we heard the Holy Prophet (SAW) say that."

Uthman said: "O Abul Hassan, have you or your companions not got any hadith concerning me?"

Ali (AS) said: "Yes, why not? I have heard the Holy Prophet (SAW) saying that he has cursed you twice, and then he did not even repent when he cursed you."

Uthman got angry at that and said: "What do I have to do with you? You never leave me, neither during the time of the Prophet not after him."

Ali (AS) said: "Yes, May Allah humiliate you."

Uthman said: "By God, I have heard the Holy Prophet (SAW) saying: "Zubayr will be killed when he becomes an apostate of Islam."

Salman says: "Ali (AS) told me, and this was between him and myself: "Uthman has said truth, and this will be when after Uthman is killed. He will pay allegiance to me and then will break it and be killed an apostate."
Salman says: "Then Ali (AS) said: "Except four, after the Holy Prophet (SAW) everyone has become an apostate. After the Holy Prophet (SAW) people became like Haroon and those who followed him and like the cow and those who followed it." So Ali (AS) is like Haroon and Atiq (Abu Bakr) like the cow, and Umar like Samiri."

I heard the Holy Prophet (SAW) saying: "No doubt, a community of my companions will come who will have a high status with me so that they pass the sirat and when they will see me and I will see them, they will recognize me and I will recognize them. They will come very near to me. I will say: "O God, these are my companions, my companions." It will be said: "Do not you know what they did after you? Indeed they reverted when you parted from them." I will say: "Go away and get destroyed."

And I have heard the Holy Prophet (SAW) say: "My community will choose the tradition of Bani Israel in exactly the same manner that one foot falls on the other foot, one span equal to another span, one hand like the other, one distance like the other distance, until they enter a hole then these people will also enter that hole. Surely, Torah and the Quran were written by one Angel, on one skin, and with one pen, and all examples with tradition became like one."

(*When Makkah was conquered the Holy Prophet (SAW) had released him - hence Tulaqa.)

Abu Ja’far (a.s.) said the following: "Whoever would seek knowledge to show off to the scholars or to engage in arguments with fools or to attract people to himself he should know that in so doing he has prepared his seat in the fire.."

From Mufaddal ibn ‘Umar from abu ‘Abdallah (a.s) who has said the following:
"O Mufaddal one can never gain success until he understands and one can never understand until he acquires knowledge.
One who understands can very soon excel.
One who exercises patience can very soon triumph.
Knowledge serves one as a shield, truth is honor, ignorance is humility, sharp wittedness is glory, generosity is success and ethical excellence attracts friendship.
One who possesses the know how of his time, confusion does not frustrate him.
Strong determination creates pessimism….
Allah is the guardian of those who know Him.
He is the enemy of those who pretend to know Him.
A person of intelligence is forgiving and an ignorant person is treacherous.
If you like to be honored you must become kind hearted and if you like to be insulted become harsh.
One whose origin is noble he is kind hearted.
One whose element is rough his liver is thick.
The extremist falls into crisis.
One who is afraid of the consequences desists from involvement in what he has no knowledge of.
One who engages in an affair without knowing anything about it he is headed to his own loss.
One who does not know he does not understand and one who does not understand he does not agree and (does not) become peaceful.
One who does not agree and (does not) submit, he is not respected and one who is not respected is broke and one who is so broken is blamable and one who is in such a condition must become regretful for his own self.

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "I found the people's knowledge in four areas: to know God, to know what He has done with you, to know what He expects of you, and to know what will deviate you from your religion."

God's Prophet (a.s) said: "Whoever dies without making a will has died like the ignorant ones."

Ameer al-Momineen (a.s) said: “All good is contained in three traits: looking, being quiet and talking. If one does not get admonished when he sees things, he is in error. Not thinking when you are quiet equals ignorance, and any talk in which there is no remembrance of God is in vain.

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Whenever you think that the truth will ruin you, it will save you; and whenever you think that falsehood will save you, it will ruin you."

Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) who has said the following:
The holy Prophet has said, Al-Fuqaha, the scholars of the Fiqh, Islamic laws are the trustees of the prophets so long as they are not involved in the worldly matters."
People asked, "What is their ‘entering in the worldly matters, O holy Prophet of Allah?"
"Their following the kings is entering in the worldly matters. When they follow the kings then you must be very careful in involving them in your religion.", replied the holy Prophet (s.a.)

Imam al Sadiq (a.s) said: "Whenever God wishes someone bad, He gives him something when he commits a sin so that he forgets to repent and remains in that state. This is God's statement: "Those who reject Our signs, We shall gradually visit them with punishment, in ways they perceive not." [The Holy Quran: Araf 7:182]

Imam Baqir (a.s) quoted on the authority of God's Prophet (a.s): "Doing things at a reasonable pace is divine, but rushing is Satanic."

Imam al Sadiq (a.s) said: "Whenever you pray for forty of your believing brothers before you pray for yourself, God will fulfill your prayers for them and for yourself."

Imam al Sadiq (a.s) said: "Whenever the blessings given to someone increase, the means for providing for the needs of the people will be placed in his hands. If he expresses irritation (about the people), then the blessings will be taken away from him."

Imam al Sadiq (a.s) said: "One who repents a sin is like one who has not committed any sin, but one who continues to commit sins while he has repented is making a fool out of himself."

Imam Baqir (a.s) said: "I swear by God that God has only asked the people the following:
1- He wants them to confess to His blessings so that He may increase them.
2- He wants them to confess to their sins so that he may forgive them."

Abi Ubeydeh al-Haz'za said: "When I was accompanying Imam Baqir (a.s) on the way to Medina, he suddenly fell prostrate in worship. When he finished he stood up and asked me if was surprised. I replied: "May I be your devoted servant! Yes." He said: "I remembered a blessing that God had given me, and found it hard to go along my way without thanking God for it."
