Asalamu alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh,

Im not sure if this has been encountered before but inside Mafatih al Jinan there is a section which states that Imam Mahdi (as) in a dream told a person who was seeking release from poverty to go to a sayyid 'from his sons' who will teach him a dua. It is under Ta'qeebat and under Fajr, here is the english version:

TRUE INCIDENT FOR FULFILLMENT OF DESIRES

Our master scholar, Shaykh al-Nuri, in his book of Dar al-Salam, has recorded on the authority of his mentor FathAli al-Sultanabadi that Shaykh MuhammadSadiq al-Iraqi had lived in harsh poverty for a long time without finding any solution for his state until he saw, in dream, that he was in a valley where there was an enormous tent with a dome over it. As he asked about the lord of that tent, he was answered that it was owned by Imam al-Mahdi, the Awaited - the protecting shelter and the relief of the deprived ones - may Allah hasten his reappearance. He therefore hurried towards that tent and complained about his poverty, asking the Imam (a.s.) to teach him a supplication that would relieve him from his grief and save him from his misfortunes. The Imam, having heard his complaint, instructed him to visit the tent of one of his offspring. He therefore left the Imam’s tent and headed for the tent to which he was guided. When he reached there, he saw Sayyid Muhammad al-Sultanabadi sitting in his prayer-place while he was engaged in uttering supplications and litanies. He greeted him and told him about his story with the Imam. The Sayyid therefore taught him a supplication that would relieve him from poverty and bring him good sustenance.

When the man woke up, he found that he had learnt that supplication by heart; therefore, he hurried to the house of the Sayyid and found him in the same state that he had seen in the dream. As if the Sayyid had already known about the dream, he welcomed the man and smiled in his face. The man hence asked the Sayyid about that supplication and the Sayyid answered him. Immediately after saying the supplication persistently, the man became so wealthy that fortune covered him from all sides.

HajjFathAli al-Sultanabadi used to praise the Sayyid so laudably. For some time, he studied under him.

The following three matters were taught by the Sayyid to that man:

(1) He taught him that he, after the Dawn Prayers, should put his hand on his chest and repeat seventy times the phrase of:

(2) He taught him to regularly say the following supplicatory prayer that, as is recorded in al-Kafi, the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) taught to one of his companions who had been afflicted by disease and poverty. Soon after that, the man recovered health and got rid of poverty. The supplication is this:

(3) He taught him to say the abovementioned supplication, which is recorded by Ibn Fahad al-Hilli in ‘Uddat al-Dai, after the Dawn Prayers.
It is thus necessary to constantly say these supplications since great rewards will be given to those who do not neglect so.

The hadeeth mentions that Sayyid Muhammed Sultan Abadi (السيّد محمّد السّلطان آبادي) is from the sons of Imam Mahdi (as). The narrator (Shaykh Muhammed Sadiq alIraqi) after the dream goes to meet this person who taught him the dua for removing poverty and sees him as he was during the dream.

Some shia scholars have interpreted this hadeeth saying that "from his sons" is symbolic for a truthful person attaining the rank of closeness to Imam Mahdi (as). However if Imam Mahdi's (as) words regarding this person being his son isn't symbolic, then this proves that he does have a lineage. I can't find the details regarding Sayyid Muhammed SultanAbadi, however the person who narrated the story from Shaykh Muhammed Sadiq alIraqi is FathAli al-SultanAbadi (فتح عليّ السّلطان آبادي) and he died in 4 Rabee' Awwal 1318H (1900 CE) according to these two websites:
http://www.islamic-laws.com/najafshrinegraves.htm
http://www.haydarya.com/nashatat/qoubor/16.htm
This means the above narration took place before 1900.

Please note that this does not necessary mean that all of Imam Mahdi's (as) offspring will come through this person, because its probable that there are other children and also it may be that there is more than one wife.

I believe this adds to the hadith proofs to show to shia that not only is Imam Mahdi (as) going to have children according to the hadiths they believe in, but that there is a hadith showing that this has already happened.

(3) He taught him to say the previously mentioned supplication, which is recorded by Ibn Fahad al-Hilli in ‘Uddat al-Dai, after the Dawn Prayers.

Translation:
Narrated from Shaykh Ibn Fahd in 'Uddat alDaa'i, from Imam Ridha (as) that he said whoever says after the Fajr prayer this saying then he will not ask Allah for a need except that it is made easy for him; and Allah is sufficient for him regarding what worries him:
Bimillah waSallallahu 'alaa Muhammadin wa aalihi,
In the name of God and may God send His prayers upon Muhammed and and his family
wa ufawwidhu amree ilaallaah innallaha baseerun bil'ibaad, (Quran 40:44)
{and I entrust my matter to Allah. Indeed Allah is Seeing of the servants.}
fawaqaahullaahu sayyi'aati maa makaroo (Quran 40:45)
{So Allah protected him from the evils of what they plotted}
laa illaaha illaa ant subhaanaka innee kuntu minadhaalimeen (21:87),
{"There is no god except You, exalted are You. Indeed I have been of the wrongdoers."}
fastajabnaa lahu wa najjaynaahu minalgham wakathaalika nunjil mu'mineen (21:88),
{So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers.}
Hasbunallaah wani'mal wakeel fataqallaboo bini'matin minallaah wa fadhl lam yamsashum soo'un (3:173-174),
{Sufficient for us is Allah the best Disposer of affairs." So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm had touched them.}
maa shaa'allah laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billah,
Whatever God wills, there is no might nor strength except in Allah
maa shaa'allah laa maa shaa'anaas maa shaa'allah wa in karihanaas
Whatever God wills not what people will, whatever God wills even if the people dislike
Hasbiyarrabu minal marboobeen Hasbiyal khaliqu minal makhlooqeen
The Lord is sufficient for me from those under (His) control, the Creator is sufficient for me from those created,
Hasbiya raaziqu minal marzooqeen Hasbiyallaah rabbil 'aalameen
The Sustainer is sufficient for me from those sustained, Sufficient for me is Allah Lord of the worlds
Hasbiya man huwa Hasbiy, Hasbiya man lam yazal Hasbiy
Sufficient for me is He who is (truly) sufficient for me, sufficient for me is He who never ceases to be sufficient for me,
Hasbiya man kaana muth kuntu lam yazal Hasbiy, Hasbiyallah laa illaaha illaa huwa
Sufficient for me is He who since I existed never ceased to be sufficient for me, sufficient for me is God, there is no god except Him
'alayhi tawakkaltu wa huwa rabbul 'arshil 'atheem
I have relied upon Him and He is the Lord of the Great Throne

It is thus necessary to constantly say these supplications since great rewards will be given to those who do not neglect so.
